if she doesn't like you any more she can make you disappear.

I beat off to the memory of him dropping the robe in Mommie Dearest for such a long time.

Yes? After he died, what?
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/22/2013|
[quote]"He was the youngest of 13 children."
Not even a mention of his famous older brother, Dana Andrews. Bad, Hollywood Reporter, bad!
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/22/2013|
He had a son called ... Forrest? That's a little cruel.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/22/2013|
"Get up-there are no cameras in here!"
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/22/2013|
Wow, I was just watching him in a movie on TCM today - " Bedivilled" , from 1955, with Anne Baxter. Lousy movie, but he was handsome, even with bright red hair. Made me forget my preference for brunettes, and the creed, ' Better dead than red' . I would have made an exception.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/22/2013|
r6, Steve Forrest was his stage name, his real last name was Andrews (as mentioned above, his older brother was actor Dana Andrews ["Laura," "The Best Years of Our Lives"])...so the son is Forrest Andrews.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/22/2013|
Coincidentally, I was just watching an episode today of Steve And Dina Merrill on Night Gallery.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/22/2013|
He was sexy as fuck.
Great chest in Mommie Dearest.

|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/22/2013|
Brother Dana Andrews really did't look anything like Steve.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/22/2013|
Funny thing. I just looked him up on imdb.com a few days ago. He was "So Big" TCM this past weekend (I think) and I thought he was handsome. That's when I found out he was Dana Andrews Brother.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/22/2013|
[quote]Not even a mention of his famous older brother, Dana Andrews. Bad, Hollywood Reporter, bad!
Agree. And Dana Andrews was A-list golden-age Hollywood famous. Makes you wonder who works at Hollywood Reporter now. And R13, that pic of Dana is not very reprsentative.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/22/2013|
What's the story behind this famous picture of Dana?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/22/2013|
The story is, it's photoshopped........badly
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/22/2013|
Dana Andrews said prunes gave him the runes.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/23/2013|
Aww, I liked him a lot. I just watched him in one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes "The Parallel". I never knew Dana Andrews was his brother.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/23/2013|
I had heard years ago (wrongly I guess) that Forrest Tucker from "F Troop" was his brother. But it was actually Dana Andrews? Interesting.
Either way, he (Steve) was a good actor. RIP.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/23/2013|
I don't think he and Dana Andrews looked that different except for their coloring. Their noses, mouths and the shape of their faces and heads weren't unalike.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/23/2013|
Sorry for my error
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/23/2013|
R11, despite the weird hair color, that's a good picture of him, but clearly isn't from the period when he made Mommie Dearest (yes, I realize that you didn't say that it was). That film was 32 years ago, when Forrest would have been 55.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/23/2013|
I remember him in 'Flaming Star' with Elvis as well.
A handsome actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||08/30/2013|
It's cute that he stayed with a wife all these years
Spouse Christine Carilas t(23 December 1948 - 18 May 2013) (his death) 3 children
Do you know if the woman in the photo below is his wife, Christine Carilas?

|by Anonymous||reply 26||08/30/2013|
Thanks for the apology, OP, but holy shit. Couldn't you take the time to proofread a five-word, 24-letter thread title?
|by Anonymous||reply 27||08/30/2013|
If you're acting you're wasting your time. If you're not, you're wasting mine.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||08/30/2013|
I always felt he should have waited for Joan to sign the autographs, escort her in to their booth, and then L.B. wouldnt have been able to drag her over to his table, and introduce her to his friends, as if she had property of MGM tattooed on her backside. She was damn mad !
|by Anonymous||reply 29||08/31/2013|
Always liked his looks, he was much handsomer than his brother. Being an original "Mission:IMPOSSIBLE" freak, I remember Steve Forrest fondly. He was the baddie in the episode, though no less sexy.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||08/31/2013|
No mention of his playing Hondo in S.W.A.T? Loved that show as a teen (crushing on 'Luca' and 'Street') I think he even had a cameo in the S.W.A.T. movie with Samuel L. Jackson.
I believe I read in the last years of his life, Dana Andrews suffered from Alzheimer's disease and Steve and his wife took care of him.

R32 are you just learning this now?
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/16/2015|
|by Anonymous||reply 34||02/16/2015|
I wish I could have handled his socks.....and his cock.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||02/16/2015|
R5 not to mention that Forrest was not the youngest; He was the 12th of 13.
He (b. September 29, 1925) and Dana Andrews (b. January 1, 1909) were 16 years apart. It would've been cool to have a much older brother like that. Imagine being 15 and having a brother who is already in his thirties?
|by Anonymous||reply 36||02/17/2015|
The curse of Mommie Dearest continues! First it killed the careers of Faye Dunaway and Diana Scarwid and now it's taken Steve Forrest. Won't someone please check in on Rutanya Alda?
|by Anonymous||reply 37||02/17/2015|
Meanwhile, I'm doing fine... livin large and prayin to God
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/17/2015|
Yes, there was, R5. I had no idea he and Dana were brothers until I read the article.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||02/17/2015|
R39 it was corrected after the fact, but Andrews was not initially mentioned.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||02/17/2015|
R.I.P. Uncle Greg!
