At a certain age, people's personality come out in their features, especially through their eyes. Do you agree with this concept and what would you say was the personality of the following face (Tom Hiddleston). My interpret this face belongs to a man who is very gentle and thoughtful. Discuss.
At a certain age, every man is responsible for his face. Do you agree?
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/24/2013|
I do agree, even though I don't want to encourage the Hiddleston troll. I am struck, though, by how much Tom Hiddleston looks like Ann Tyrell. (On the right. The one on the left is Joe E. Brown.)

Absolutely and super thread to start. I think there is a great quote that goes, "After the age of 40, you get the face you deserve," meaning that your values and attitudes will eventually show up on your features.
And isn't that what "The Picture of Dorian Gray" is all about?

This young man's face holds many untold secrets, many of which make him sad. And he won't ever tell them.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/22/2013|
I thought OP pic was DanRad done up for some role. I hope Tom usually looks better than that, disappointed after the hype here.
With regards to the question, yes. You get the face you deserve some say. With some you can see not only the drugs, but the bitterness in their face.

The source of the quote by R2 is Abraham Lincoln.

My sister has a look that makes you fear for your life.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/22/2013|
For some the age is fairly young.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/22/2013|
My partner has the kindest eyes I've ever seen on a man. And he IS the kindest person I ever met.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/22/2013|
Heath Ledger, for instance.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/22/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/22/2013|
Elias Koteas too.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/22/2013|
This thread reminds me I need a box of Kotex.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/22/2013|
Right because if he doesn't have a hundred thousand dollars for plastic surgery and special dental work he's EVIL!
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/22/2013|
And Gott help him if he is bald!
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/22/2013|
We're talking about how what's in the heart and soul shows up in facial expressions and in the eyes. This is not an assessment on how "good looking" a person is. Bald has nothing to do with it.
There's also a good book called Amazing Face Reading. It's not quite what we're talking about here but describes how facial features (sliding pond noses versus aquiline noses, for example) can give you insight into a person's personality.

Joseph Merrick must have been the worst sort of person.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/22/2013|
R16, stop. Did you ever look at Joseph Merrick's eyes? Gentle, melancholy.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/22/2013|
I have found this to be very true.A person looks on the outside like what they are inside, eventually.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/22/2013|
Outrageous bullshit. 21st century Phrenology and racial eugenics was not any different. Gap tooth=risk taking! Corporations are hiring these people so they can discriminate with impunity by pointing to face reading instead.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/22/2013|
On that note R18, the poster at R13 must look like a dunce.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/22/2013|
John Travolta must be a sweet guy. He has a sweet face.
Harrison Ford must be a cranky bastard. "Get off my ranch."
Matt Bomer must have some learning and thyroid disorder, and looks nervous like an abused puppy.
Matt Lauer is a walking boner face, the face of a cheater.
Johnny Depp has the debauched face of a satanist.
Brad Pitt looks blank and dehydrated.
Piers Morgan looks dishonest and petty lipped.
Tom Cruise looks like a youthful sociopath, untroubled by reality.
Now there could be some truth to this theory. Or it is just projection?
Letterman looks like a tortured soul.

No 3 guesses needed to imagine what r19 and r20 will look like someday. Caftans and earrings won't save you!

“You end up as you deserve. In old age you must put up with the face, the friends, the health, and the children you have earned.”
- Fay Weldon
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/22/2013|
R9, are you saying that Heath Ledger NOW has the face that he deserves?
Because until the day of his death, he hadn't reached that "certain age."
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/23/2013|
At a certain point, every stalker is responsible for her lunacy. Case in point: OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/23/2013|
Didn't some bitch say that "eyes are windows into the soul" or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/23/2013|
Oh yeah, R26, but she had no idea what she was talking about!
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/23/2013|
I agree with R11 that Elias Koteas has an extremely kind, loving and compassionate face. If you look into that man's eyes you can tell he is full of love and spirituality.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/23/2013|
I have dead eyes. Fitting, as I feel completely dead inside.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/23/2013|
At a certain age, every man is responsible for his hole. That's what.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/23/2013|
I think Letterman is tortured. He's kind of liberal and he lives in the good old USA.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/23/2013|
I have the same clear blue eyes I had as an innocent 7 year old. I'm not innocent.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/23/2013|
I foresee strong objections to this from the Elias Koteas troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/24/2013|
r29 you're the second person I've come across who owns their 'dead eyes'. the other is a friend of mine I met last year and I wondered if there was some inside/outside connection and if 'dead eyes' is a constant or just based on what's going on in your head.
my friend is pretty lively and active and gets into the drink and drugs recreationally more than my other friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/24/2013|
R21 I think you are pretty right on with your assessments.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/24/2013|
Thanks. Well, they were real assessments. I have a hard time on DL. It is a throwaway place.
I am not the nice guy, but try to be fair and thoughtful. I am not very quick bitch witty.
I have been thinking about what my own face "says".....(I think I know)
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/24/2013|
He is a kind, warm daddy.
