Since 1995 wants to overthrow Datalounge!

The real reason they have closed their chat rooms, is that they want a piece of the action that Datalounge now occupies.

They have changed the chat rooms into an Internet forum where anyone can post any type of topic, and wait for replies.

In time they want to overtake Datalounge as the number one internet forum. is nipping at Datalounge heels.

So does Datalounge have anything to worry about? Should they see internet forum as a threat?

by Anonymousreply 4405/20/2013 is so 2003.

by Anonymousreply 105/20/2013

Interesting! It's about time! Just like FB has overstayed their welcome and we all went from (well those of us that are gossipers) ACG to AGC to IHSG to DL to.....? DL has long been fucked up, starting with primetime.

by Anonymousreply 205/20/2013

This is r2 I went there & it's horrible. I was excited at first but you have to sign up, it's awful. Just no.

by Anonymousreply 305/20/2013

Hmm, interesting. I will have to go check that out.

by Anonymousreply 405/20/2013

R3 you have to sign-up. But it is relatively free and you can start whatever topic you want.

Datalounge needs to fight fire with fire!

by Anonymousreply 505/20/2013

"Log Cabin Room"? Yuck.

by Anonymousreply 605/20/2013

DL, you in danger gurl!

by Anonymousreply 705/20/2013

As long as they use the same formula, they'll probably get the same results. After the word has gotten out that they're gunning for DL. And competition makes a better product, so I welcome it.

by Anonymousreply 805/20/2013

It will be nice to go somewhere where the moderator is not on the rag like this place.

by Anonymousreply 905/20/2013

[quote]In time they want to overtake Datalounge as the number one internet forum.

Not to worry. We and our children will all be dead before Datalounge becomes the number one internet forum.

by Anonymousreply 1005/20/2013

Q-whip will overthrow the entire world!!!!

by Anonymousreply 1105/20/2013

Should read

Datalounge the number one gay internet forum.

Is there anyone else that comes close?

by Anonymousreply 1205/20/2013

[quote]a piece of the action that Datalounge now occupies

What action? All 50 of us? Gurl, please.

by Anonymousreply 1305/20/2013

[quote] What action?

The amount of traffic Datalounge gets.

by Anonymousreply 1405/20/2013

Gay.con is shit.

run away.

by Anonymousreply 1505/20/2013

OP you said "like here", we post anonymously here. If we can't post anonymously it's not going to be worth it. Tell that to the people who paid you to post this.

And they need to make a new url, not everyone is allowed to access gay anything, even from their ipads & iphones at work without getting fired. Datalounge is a neutral name.

by Anonymousreply 1605/20/2013

R16 nobody paid me to post this.

I don't like and want Datalounge to thrive!

by Anonymousreply 1705/20/2013

I think Manvox is becoming the premier gay internet forum in Europe and Asia. I wonder if it will come to challenge DL in the United States.

by Anonymousreply 1805/20/2013

Sweet, thanks for letting me know! BYE DATALOUNGE!!!

by Anonymousreply 1905/20/2013

[quote]But it is relatively free and you can start whatever topic you want.

"Relatively free," R5? WTF is that? Is that like relatively pregnant? Or relatively dead?

by Anonymousreply 2005/20/2013

A minor fee is far less of a hurdle than there being no anonymity. It's never going to take off without that.

by Anonymousreply 2105/20/2013

What is dead may never die

by Anonymousreply 2205/20/2013

A piece of WHAT action? That lucrative 18 bucks a month trade?

by Anonymousreply 2305/20/2013

I want to hang out with r20.

by Anonymousreply 2405/20/2013

Well $18 does add up, and there's probably really low overhead too.

by Anonymousreply 2505/20/2013

The beauty and intrigue of a gay board that is anonymous will always have supporters.

by Anonymousreply 2605/20/2013

You can be anonymous on use a fake pic like everybody else.

by Anonymousreply 2705/20/2013

Actually is 18 a YEAR, right?

by Anonymousreply 2805/20/2013

Yes r28.

by Anonymousreply 2905/20/2013

But you're still required to have some identity r27, even it's fake. Which leads to stalkers and flame wars. It's much better here with complete, true anonymity. It's probably the main factor that makes DL work and makes it special.

by Anonymousreply 3005/20/2013

Hmmmmm...let's compare. Datalounge = $18/YEAR

Premium Subscription

7 day free trial premium membership. Rebills at monthly rate at $11.99.

Quarterly 90 day premium membership for $29.99

Monthly 30 day premium membership for $11.99

Annual 1 year premium membership for $89.99

Dataloungers complain about $18/ website is horrific and message board a complete mess...

by Anonymousreply 3105/20/2013

From the new "topics" rooms...

[quote]Please note that topics that are inactive for 5 hours will be removed.

So at least at there won't be folks bitching about old/dead threads being bumped. They just disappear after 5 hours.

by Anonymousreply 3205/20/2013

Relatively free? Even DL's $18 I wouldn't consider "relatively free" but no way is's $90 a year!

by Anonymousreply 3305/20/2013

It being can they screen-out the dykes, fraus and all other fish?

by Anonymousreply 3405/20/2013

R34, remember how the pussy lips were the last thing to touch you before you joined the world.

by Anonymousreply 3505/20/2013

I finally decided to stop taking my meds and now I just sit and listen to the debates, bitching and irrational nonsense going on in my own head, eliminating the need for the DL.

So much more satisfying.

by Anonymousreply 3605/20/2013

Either R36 is a genius or very, very, very, very, very. Very.

by Anonymousreply 3705/20/2013

Well OP it's not like the folks at Datalounge haven't done everything in their power to run off as many people as possible lately. Should take too much effort for to overtake DL now that it's only a shadow of its former self.

by Anonymousreply 3805/20/2013

[quote]In time they want to overtake Datalounge as the number one internet forum.

DL ain't even #300000.

by Anonymousreply 3905/20/2013

LOL, R38!

by Anonymousreply 4005/20/2013

Can one discuss soaps there?

by Anonymousreply 4105/20/2013

You can used the words that DL has arbitrarily banned. You know the ones I'm talking about.

by Anonymousreply 4205/20/2013

Never. Datalounge is a staple. Staple. Always has been. A tradition and what have you.

by Anonymousreply 4305/20/2013

R41, there are probably about a dozen of those fucking soap threads on the DL right now.

Apparently it is no longer a problem to discuss that shit here.
