Darcel, the most FABULOUS Solid Gold dancer ever!

She's Hot Slut of the Day over at Dlisted.

Darcel was fabulous! Even though she basically did the same thing for every song. And smized at the camera before we even know what that was....

she was fierce, but I liked Tony Fields r.i.p.

I wish it was 1984...Darcel was and will always be my favorite SG dancer. I wanted to be her when I was a little black girl growing up in Bklyn. My Saturdays were spent watching Solid Gold, American Bandstand, Soul Train and Dance Fever. I so miss those days...seriously!!

Why was Darcel always in the middle?

by Anonymousreply 305/17/2013

I cannot believe international superstar and DL legend Miss Dionne "My Nostrils Can Smell Tomorrow" Warwick has not commented on this thread.

Michael K, please carry your tired shit back to your own site.

by Anonymousreply 505/17/2013

R5 eats piles of steaming, maggot infested shit.

by Anonymousreply 605/17/2013

I watched the Partridge Family today and Shirley Jones smized her way through that show.

by Anonymousreply 705/17/2013

Touched a nerve there, eh Michael K (aka R6)?

[quote]Touched a nerve there, eh Michael K (aka [R6])?

Why don't you go stalk someone else!

by Anonymousreply 905/17/2013

I'm not Michael K, R6/R8.

Nor do I share your apparent rage about him - what, did he post a picture of your anal warts at some point?

Darcel amuses me because I remember seeing her on Solid Gold.

Any questions?

A show like this is so ripe for a 'behind the scenes' movie. "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" *WAS* fun, but someone could really do something with a story about a hit music/variety show with crazed hosts, wacky guests and bitchy/competetive dancer regulars. Someone, get it done !!

by Anonymousreply 1105/18/2013

Aw, r1, I did too....I had no idea he died at such a young age.

by Anonymousreply 1205/18/2013

Did she choreograph her own routines? If not, the choreographer on this show should have been taken out back and shot. This is not dancing. It's pelvic convulsions followed by tossing yourself across the floor. I about died laughing when she rolled herself over that prop to Union of the Snake.

That's what I loved about her, R13. Honestly, she wasn't a great dancer and any number of drag queens could have worked that shit.

But there was just something about her that made you want to cheer her on anyway. Laughing at her moves but at the same time liking her too.

by Anonymousreply 1405/18/2013

She was in touch with a mystical animal nature. This tawny channeler of L.A. eros energy pierced the numb fog of white North American suburban life in the '80's!

by Anonymousreply 1505/18/2013

She was a little sad sometimes. You could always tell she was doing her best to out dance all the other performers. It got distracting.

by Anonymousreply 1605/18/2013

R13 with a near-Showgirls quote.

by Anonymousreply 1705/18/2013

I LOVE her! When I was 12 I sprained my toe copying her dance moves in my living room.
