Gay Couple Assaulted By Rowdy Knicks Fans

Porto and his partner, enjoying the warm weather along with the rest of the city, were knocked to the ground and beaten by a crowd of rowdy New York Knicks fans shouting homophobic slurs — in broad daylight, just steps from Madison Square Garden, the victims said.

The couple was assaulted by four men on Eighth Avenue, between West 34th and West 35th streets about 5 p.m., cops said — as the Indiana Pacers played the Knicks on Sunday.

Bet it was Jensen Ackls threw the first punch.

by Anonymousreply 105/07/2013

But I thought NYC was supposed to be the best place on earth for gays?!

by Anonymousreply 205/07/2013

Another reason to hate basketball

by Anonymousreply 305/07/2013

Why would you hate basketball when the first out player came out in basketball? No one is messing with him.

by Anonymousreply 405/07/2013

WHY would I love basketball just because one of the players is gay. r4? I don't like basketball. I don't care who is playing that boring shit. Is that okay with you?

by Anonymousreply 505/07/2013

This. Never. Happened.

by Anonymousreply 605/07/2013

Uhm, it DID happen. The day is soon coming where some gays are gonna fight back with a gun, and blow a few of these shithead guy's faces off. I will giggle at the corpses and whiny parents, "He was such a GOOD BOY!"

Bridge and tunnel trash, no doubt.

by Anonymousreply 905/07/2013

R8 i Would love to know the whole story. You cannot assume this is true just because they throw a picture of a black man as the accused.

by Anonymousreply 1005/07/2013

I wonder if everyone who engaged in the assault will be held accountable...

by Anonymousreply 1105/07/2013

r10, shove your racial shit down your throat and choke

by Anonymousreply 1205/07/2013

Too bad the lowlifes didn't run into Bernie Goetz.

by Anonymousreply 1305/07/2013

This is why I carry a taser and have used it.

This story is airing right now on my local CBS station in New York City. The two men are saying it was a bias crime and they were singled out for being gay by four thugs near Madison Square Garden. They were called "faggots" by four men who were wearing Knicks hats and pummeled after one of the victims asked why they were calling them names. It happened, asshat @r6. One of them has a broken nose. His partner suffered an injury to his left arm.The arm is wrapped in a soft cast. Is that real enough for you?

by Anonymousreply 1505/07/2013

We haven't heard the other side of the story.

by Anonymousreply 1605/07/2013

Addendum to my previous post: The thugs were wearing Knicks shirts not hats. One of the gay men sustained an injury to his right hand and arm. Not his left arm. A still image of one of the thugs was caught on a security camera. Carry on.

by Anonymousreply 2005/07/2013

Heard on radio two guys were attacked in Paris for holding hands on the street.

by Anonymousreply 2105/08/2013

The attackers have been arrested.

by Anonymousreply 2205/10/2013

Are these the same attackers? The article concludes by saying the police are investigating whether there's a connection.
