Does anybody else think Randy Jackson, the charisma-free pernennial Idol host- shot to fame because people thought he was one of "The Jacksons"? Of all the people they could have hired (then again, Paula Abdul was just a faded '80's one-hit wonder at the time).

I bet Simon thought the public would be confused by the Jackson name.

True R33. But most of those hits, #1s and all are not memorable and haven't stood up.

Some people can have several/more than one chart hits but in the end are only remembered for one and are one hit wonders but not in the technical sense. I do like more than one Paula song though. :)

by Anonymousreply 4305/07/2013

R34 Datalounge needs to start a fundraising campaign to convince the leaders of Jackson Hole, WY to change the name of the city to Presenting Hole.

by Anonymousreply 4705/07/2013

Well obviously...Michael and then maybe Janet then Jermaine.

by Anonymousreply 4805/07/2013

Mahalia

by Anonymousreply 4905/07/2013

The town is Jackson, not Jackson Hole. Jackson Hole is the name of the valley.
