SNL-5/4/13

Zach Galfianakis is the host and Of Monsters And Men is the musical guest.

I hope they rag on Justin Bieber for his nauseating message at the Anne Frank House. And Kate McKinnon as Reese Witherspoon.

by Anonymousreply 4505/07/2013

They HAVE to do a Reese Withersppon sketch!

by Anonymousreply 105/04/2013

I heard Jimmy Fallon and Rachel Dratch are going to be guests to do their Boston couple thing. Maybe they'll do a sketch where they're making out at the Boston Marathon and don't even notice the bombings and all the commotion.

Seth will have a field day with Tamerlan and Dzhokhar. Maybe Bobby Moynahan and Nasim Phrasard can play them.

by Anonymousreply 205/04/2013

I just hope Zach takes his clothes off.

by Anonymousreply 305/04/2013

The Anne Frank/Bieber thing was weeks ago. Too long past for SNL.

by Anonymousreply 405/04/2013

I disagree, R4.

by Anonymousreply 505/04/2013

Someone at dress rehearsal has posted that there are two surprise cameos tonight.

by Anonymousreply 605/04/2013

The two surprise cameos are Jimmy Fallon and Rachel Dratch who are there to do their Boston sketch.

by Anonymousreply 705/04/2013

No, R7, they're not doing it. I hear they might wait for when Ben Affleck hosts the finale in 2 weeks.

by Anonymousreply 805/04/2013

I hope Zach plays Reese.

by Anonymousreply 905/04/2013

[quote]Maybe they'll do a sketch where they're making out at the Boston Marathon and don't even notice the bombings and all the commotion.

Wow, that would be hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 1005/04/2013

He's so unfunny.

by Anonymousreply 1105/04/2013

R11 I think his episodes have been some of the best in the last few years.

by Anonymousreply 1205/04/2013

He said Fuck

by Anonymousreply 1305/04/2013

What was up with the opening sketch? The Big Gulp joke is what, 6 months old?

by Anonymousreply 1405/04/2013

R13 - who?

by Anonymousreply 1505/04/2013

The Kingslayer!

by Anonymousreply 1605/04/2013

Oh my GAWD...he said "Fuck"!

by Anonymousreply 1705/04/2013

This Jennifer Aniston sketch is painful.

by Anonymousreply 1805/04/2013

Bradley Cooper in anything.

by Anonymousreply 1905/05/2013

He said not to get our hopes up.....

by Anonymousreply 2005/05/2013

I wanted to put this song on the Songs You Hate thread but couldn't remember the name of it. So overplayed.

by Anonymousreply 2105/05/2013

That's when I switched it off R18. The magnificent comic timing of Ed Helms.

I have hung in there with this show forever but this year is too lousy for even me. I can't even make it to Weekend Update anymore.

Zach was not very good tonight. His opening was particularly weak. I'm not looking for laughing out loud moments, but I didn't even smile.

That guy from Game of Thrones was extremely hot though.

by Anonymousreply 2205/05/2013

It needs to be two minutes shorter, R21. Very boring.

by Anonymousreply 2305/05/2013

The Of Monsters And Men Icelandic female singer looks and sounds like Bjork, do all the women in Iceland look part Asian?!

Seriously, is she related to Bjork?

by Anonymousreply 2405/05/2013

The Google Glass thing is working. Very funny.

by Anonymousreply 2505/05/2013

Question: Are the people that watch SNL all over 35? Because I don't know anyone younger than that who still watches this show.

by Anonymousreply 2605/05/2013

I laughed out loud at the Google Glass one too r25

by Anonymousreply 2705/05/2013

Girl wish you never sketch is never funny enough to be a recurring character.

by Anonymousreply 2805/05/2013

I disagree. She's funnier than most recurring characters/sketches I've seen over the past 5 years or so.

by Anonymousreply 2905/05/2013

I loved the Jennifer Aniston Look-Alike Contest sketch and the M&M Store employee sketch.

"Take another look at your list, Schindler!"

by Anonymousreply 3005/05/2013

Is the other singer in Of Monsters and Men a transman? Short, heavy, thin beard, small hands and feet, womanly teeth, and the voice.... Raggi is his name. I Googled the name but didn't find anything much on him.

by Anonymousreply 3205/05/2013

If these were the "good" sketches that they left in, can you imagine how lame the bad sketches were?

SNL is in trouble this year. Now I only listen to it from another room until something funny comes on, and lately this year that has not been happening. The Game of Thrones sketch...what were they thinking?

by Anonymousreply 3305/05/2013

Are they all too busy planning their sitcoms, late night talk shows and movies to put together a better episode? I'm not even that picky! Just give me more Bill Hader (who lights up the screen) & Fred (so funny) and I'll be happy.

by Anonymousreply 3405/05/2013

Really bad show. Martha Stewart? Jen Anniston? Really? What is this, 1998?

by Anonymousreply 3505/05/2013

Variety/Sketch shows are so out-of-date; a format from another time. SNL hasn't been truly funny since the mid-90's.

by Anonymousreply 3605/05/2013

For a second there I thought Chaz Bono was on SNL performing with her new band.

by Anonymousreply 3705/05/2013

.

by Anonymousreply 3805/05/2013

[quote]For a second there I thought Chaz Bono was on SNL performing with her new band.

Did you know that she actually did have a band once? It was terrible!

by Anonymousreply 3905/05/2013

SNL sucks.

by Anonymousreply 4005/05/2013

They've lost John Mulaney as a writer. That sucks, though I'm lad he's getting his own show.

by Anonymousreply 4105/05/2013

[quote]The Of Monsters And Men Icelandic female singer looks and sounds like Bjork, do all the women in Iceland look part Asian?! Seriously, is she related to Bjork?

Despite the pig-ignorant "part Asian" bit. I agree she looks a great dea like Björk.

by Anonymousreply 4205/05/2013

[quote]The Google Glass thing is working. Very funny.

So-instead of sketches that look like real commercials, SNL is now shoehorning in real commercials as "sketches"?

I thought they were better than that.

by Anonymousreply 4305/05/2013

Vulture.com wants you to see this sketch cut from this episode.

by Anonymousreply 4405/07/2013

Martha Stewart on match.com...how current!
