Folsom New York: ***CANCELLED!***
All those that were looking to have a little bit of San Francisco Folsom-style funk in New York City are going to have put away the buttplug and lube, 'cos this year's Folsom Street East Festival has been cancelled. All together now: BOOOO!

Yup, they're using the "construction" excuse now, but that block is becoming very thick with luxury condos and it's right by the high line. I'm thinking Folsom Street East will not return in that location. I went last year and it was a total blast and so different, but the energy was awkward with all the flyover gawkers at the high line. You just know there is being a lot of pressure put on them to discontinue the event in that location permanently.

ya, whats up with that R2? I like hot men like the next guy, leather, rubber, bear but all the ones showing up at Folsom are just FUGLY.
Like Ongina from RuPauls Drag Race. = Total Dick Wilt.

How dare they take away out right to gang bang in public!

The only goodlooking ones in attendance are the porn stars, and they mostly don't participate--they're just there to advertise their companies and have their pictures taken.
It's mostly a freakfest.

lol r4. Freedom taking, that's what this is!

You younger gays seem to want to let them take all the fun out of being gay. So sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||04/25/2013|
Damn. I was really looking forward to seeing a bunch of frankfurter-skinned, saggy-tittied fiftysomethings display their baseball-sized nipples and cottage-cheese asses in black leather harnesses while desperately trying to inflate their penile implants in the name of sexual freedom.

Jeez! First Fleet Week and now this.

I wouldn't want people behaving like this in public, gay or straight. It looks awfully needy of attention, and a product of homophobia rather than a reaction to it.

Go to the one in SF r8. Samething.

They're probably worried about the meningitis outbreak getting worse, with all those people getting with each other.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||04/26/2013|
this is ridiculous! and NO! I've gone for years and never caught anything. it's just a street festival.

San Frncisco has jumped the shark. NYC is a better spot for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||04/26/2013|
This is why they hate us. Shit festivals like this are holding the LGBT community back.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||04/26/2013|
This kinda shit needs to GO NOW. It holds us all back and it is so fucking dated.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||04/26/2013|
Not all gay men want to be beige.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||04/26/2013|
Go fuck yourself, R16. Seriously.

I went last year and while the fair itself is kinda meh, the Eagle was hot, hot, HOT. So much fun inside with all kinds of shenanigans going on. Had a blast.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||04/26/2013|
Let's hope they all get meningitis and go away.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||04/27/2013|
What r2 said. I'm in the kink community and am out about it, but it's sex -- don't bring that shit in the street like dogs.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||04/27/2013|
This is what Folsom Street is all about, baby. Pic from San Francisco 2012.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||04/27/2013|
That Folsom shit is gross. Those folks need to grow up and find some purpose for their lives.

Anything that makes Manhattan less exciting and unique (ya know, more like Queens is) is OK in my book.
