Please don't cast Anne Hathaway as Sgt. Sarah Brown:
Fox Seals ‘Guys And Dolls’ Rights; Wants Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Fill Frank Sinatra And Marlon Brando Shoes
|by Mia||reply 32||04/25/2013|
However Fox does not support Guys with Dolls rights?
|by Mia||reply 1||04/24/2013|
God I hate that fucking show!
|by Mia||reply 2||04/24/2013|
A remake of Guys and Dolls, you're shitting me, right?
|by Mia||reply 3||04/24/2013|
If they're going to fill shoes, they should be Robert Alda's and Sam Levene's.
|by Mia||reply 4||04/24/2013|
If they get a good singer for the Guy Masterson role, they can put back the songs that had to be cut since Marlon Brando could barely sing.
|by Mia||reply 5||04/24/2013|
Oops! That should be Sky Masterson, not Guy.
|by Mia||reply 6||04/24/2013|
Channing Tatum!?!? I'm sorry, I just don't get the fascination with this guy. He's in good shape,and ok, he's decent looking; but he's way overrated in the acting and dancing ability.
|by Mia||reply 7||04/24/2013|
Oh you darling, naive R7. It's not about talent, it's about making money and putting the current flavor of the month in the film that stupid people will see. Why do you think Crowe was Javert?
|by Mia||reply 8||04/24/2013|
Levitt should turn this down.
|by Mia||reply 9||04/24/2013|
I don't think I'd describe Russell Crowe as a "flavour of the month," however much his singing sucked in Les Miz.
|by Mia||reply 10||04/24/2013|
I love when Hollywood remakes these tres gay flicks, so that the decrepit old queens on here can go apoplectic. Pass the popcorn Cheryl, this is gonna be good.
|by Mia||reply 11||04/24/2013|
R6 Are you sure you didn't mean BAT Masterson?
|by Mia||reply 12||04/24/2013|
This will fail.
And can we PLEASE stop pretending that Channing Tatum is attractive? He has the face of a baboon.
|by Mia||reply 13||04/24/2013|
Has even made a musical since Hello Dolly almost bankrupted that place?
|by Mia||reply 14||04/24/2013|
Please no Channing Tatum, why does entertainment in America only use the same ten people over and over?
|by Mia||reply 15||04/24/2013|
This might be a good time for a new Guys and Dolls. The material is not over-exposed, the score and book are great, and a new theatrical musical release is overdue.
|by Mia||reply 16||04/24/2013|

I agree. Same with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I'm getting so tired of the same old white guys being in every single movie.
|by Mia||reply 17||04/24/2013|
R1 Fox LOVES Dolls. They made Valley of the Dolls.
|by Mia||reply 18||04/24/2013|
r17, the whole idea of "white" really irks you doesn't it?
|by Mia||reply 19||04/24/2013|
The show score is great. The film score, not so great.
|by Mia||reply 20||04/24/2013|
Will they show hole?
|by Mia||reply 21||04/24/2013|
Are they serious? These are charismaless white bread guys, especially Tatum. Don't they get that the character of Sky Masterson doesn't have to be physically attractive, he just needs that visceral charisma?
|by Mia||reply 22||04/24/2013|
Sky can even have bushy eyebrows if it helps his characterization.
|by Mia||reply 23||04/24/2013|
Gallagher is still more perfect for Sky than someone like Tatum will ever be.
|by Mia||reply 24||04/24/2013|
Doesn't matter who they cast as the guys or even Sarah really. Who they cast as Adelaide is what will make or break the film.
|by Mia||reply 25||04/24/2013|
Melissa McCarthy for Adelaide!
|by Mia||reply 26||04/24/2013|
Rebel Wilson as Adelaide
|by Mia||reply 27||04/25/2013|
Most old queens here haven't seen any of Tatum's films I'm guessing. He does a lot of schlock but 21 Jump Street showed he was excellent at comedy, and can be very charismatic.
|by Mia||reply 28||04/25/2013|
Eh, maybe, it won't be made as a musical.
Maybe, the guys will have only one scene where they dance.
|by Mia||reply 29||04/25/2013|
Channing is such a lump of stale white bead.
But really, I don't see how this musical can appeal to a modern mass audience. Are kids raised on ghetto rap going to understand the odd early 20th-century NY speech patters, or the existence of Salvation Army Bands? Seriously, the material is old old old, and can't be updated without changing it beyond recognition.
|by Mia||reply 30||04/25/2013|
Are we going to be in it?
|by Mia||reply 31||04/25/2013|
If I have anything to do about it, this will NOT happen!!!!!
|by Mia||reply 32||04/25/2013|
