GLAAD vs Bret Easton Ellis

I think Ellis is an asshole of epic proportions.

But I agree with several of his Tweets about Glee, The New Normal and Modern Family.

by Anonymousreply 4604/25/2013

He's an asshole and famewhore.

by Anonymousreply 104/20/2013

He is, and the puddle of AIDS Tweet was vile.

But he's right about those shows. Especially Modern Family.

by Anonymousreply 204/20/2013

I don't give a damn. I just want to know if he ever had an affair with Keanu Reeves?

by Anonymousreply 304/20/2013

Why the fuck would he even want to go? He hates gay people -- and himself -- so much that he can't stand it.

by Anonymousreply 504/20/2013

He's such a nasty asshole. But who gives a shit what he thinks? He ceased being relevant to anyone decades ago.

by Anonymousreply 604/20/2013

He's gay now? When did he stop being bi? When it was cool to be gay again?

by Anonymousreply 704/21/2013

OP he's vile. He went on for hours on his twitter account about Matt Bomer and how he couldn't play parts because he was gay. Then he went on that night to attack Neil Patrick Harris by saying he was so gay that he couldn't play straight. Every criticism he has is against the gay actor on the shows but he loves his porn straight actors. What he did by his tweets was basically confirm every closeted actors nightmare that if they come out they wouldn't get hired. His behavior encourages gay men to stay in the closet. I don't blame GLAAD for not wanting him.

Now he's marrying the guy he never calls by name, the one who's like his coke dealer?

by Anonymousreply 904/21/2013

He's basically the gay community's own (balding) Ann Coulter.

Both their carefully crafted shock value statements are now fairly predictable and boring.

by Anonymousreply 1104/21/2013

He's such a bitch!

by Anonymousreply 1204/21/2013

I'm not "culturally" gay.

I just sleep with guys.

Deal with it.

by Anonymousreply 1304/21/2013

B. E. E., are you the G0y Troll?

by Anonymousreply 1404/21/2013

I think his tweets are incisive.

by Anonymousreply 1504/21/2013

I think it's ironic that he is banned from a media awards show. I certainly don't agree with him, but we have to remember and defend his right to free speech. He has to accept the consequences for what he says.

by Anonymousreply 1604/21/2013

Things like the coverages of GLAAD ceremonies just make me think: "this WHOLE ISSUE was built on who likes to have genital contact with whom."

I don't think celebs who attend are to be lauded for it, necessarily. Even media outlets, when listing the attendees, seem pressured to specify which famous attendees are actually gay, and which ones are NOT--just "Allies." I think it almost makes me feel sadder.

by Anonymousreply 1704/21/2013

R8 the rumor about that is that BEE attacked Matt Bomer and NPH on Twitter because Simon Halls used his influence with the 50 Shades producers to have BEE taken off the list of potential screenwriters.

by Anonymousreply 1804/21/2013

Wow, r17, that's fucked up. I think there's a bit more to being gay than genital contact.

by Anonymousreply 1904/21/2013

Ah, R19. I figured someone would get offended, seeing how we can hardly ever agree as a group, nor blend ideas, or ever find anything non-offensive.

Love without sexual desire is not something that has historically been considered "homosexual" in our society. So, yes. I believe this whole big deal relates back to concern with who wants to put their genitals where.

by Anonymousreply 2004/21/2013

BEE is a tiresome waste of space.

by Anonymousreply 2104/21/2013

"the rumor about that is that BEE attacked Matt Bomer and NPH on Twitter because Simon Halls used his influence with the 50 Shades producers to have BEE taken off the list of potential screenwriters."

That's not a rumor, that's some fantasy shit presumptions by morons who want to feel important.

by Anonymousreply 2204/21/2013

There's no way BEE would have been considered for that job anyway. It's too high profile and he causes controversy too often. Not that the final film is likely to be a great work anyway.

by Anonymousreply 2304/21/2013

I've been darkening this site for a few months now, but I suppose I am still a newbie. I have been able to deduce the meaning of nearly all of the acronyms and inside slang, but I have yet to figure out what a gOy is. Would one of you generous members be so kind as to inform me?

As for BEE, He has always been known as a pill, but I confess to loving "Less Than Zero".

by Anonymousreply 2404/21/2013

swf, here you go.

by Anonymousreply 2504/21/2013

DL`ers got stung by BEE...

by Anonymousreply 2604/21/2013

GLAAD is more insufferable than BEE . They are like gay PETA.

by Anonymousreply 2704/21/2013

The only thing they want to do is kiss celebrity ass and schmooze. They're afraid of any gay opinion that doesn't match up with this white, upper middle class (or fucking ridiculously wealthy) über PC idea of what "gay" is supposed to be. They're nothing more than a fully funded bully pulpit that are doing next to nothing for gay rights. They lost me when they decided to give Bill "architect of DADT and DOMA" Clinton an award.

Fuck them.

by Anonymousreply 2804/21/2013

Oh, look, it's butthurt Bret @ r28!

Ellis told us day after day that we were racists. That's why we were after Tyler Clementi's bully.

Ellis is a Republican. He reminds us all the time that he isn't gay.

r26/r27 = same LCR

by Anonymousreply 2904/21/2013

He's right about the shows he trashed, but he lost points with me when he quoted that vile, herpes-infected bigot named Paris Hilton.

by Anonymousreply 3004/21/2013

Why did some of these celebs refuse to walk the red carpet?

Leo DiCaprio, Clinton, Alex Pettyfer, Drew Barrymore .....

Then why attend?

by Anonymousreply 3104/21/2013

Pettyfer did walk the carpet. The others probably went to hob-nob.

by Anonymousreply 3204/21/2013

He is a loathsome man but nonetheless pretty smart about keeping his name in the news. After all, here are 33 posters talking about him. It's all about self-promotion.

by Anonymousreply 3304/21/2013

I eat shit.

by Anonymousreply 3404/21/2013

r31 I get Cllinton and DiCaprio thought they were too good to walk the red carpet but drew barrymoore? really ? I cant think of what she did besides ET and Charlie's Angels.

by Anonymousreply 3504/21/2013

R18 That rumour is silly. Why would Halls even bother himself to remove BEE from that project, considering that Bomer doesn't even want to be in it. And besides from what I heard BEE was never taken seriously by producers of that movie, he didn't have any chance to be a screenwriter for it.

I guess when he finally realised what was always obvious for everyone else, that he doesn't have any chance to be hired, he decided to lash his frustration on anybody, and that happened to be Bomer, who was at that time (and probably still is) one of the top choices on all the cast wishlists created by 50 Shades fans. Then people decided to defend Bomer and the fight on twitter started. Which was of course what that troll BEE wanted and what he wants now. Attention.

by Anonymousreply 3604/21/2013

I saw pics of Pettyfer (who looks like shit) and Barrymore this morning. DiCaprio almost never walks the red carpet anymore.

by Anonymousreply 3704/21/2013

r35, apparently Drew Barrymore walked the carpet, too. It's just that no one recognized her because she was wearing her grandmother's duvet.

by Anonymousreply 3804/21/2013

R38 Oh dear. That thing she was wearing is scary.

by Anonymousreply 3904/21/2013

[quote]I eat shit.

You can't just leave me in suspense like this, R34. You must elaborate, otherwise I'll just assume you have a crush on me and don't know how handle it.

by Anonymousreply 4004/21/2013

lol @ the Andrew Rannells shade, though on the other hand it's pretty sickening to see gay men being homophobic to others. I dread to see what he'd say about Chris Colfer. What a childish bigoted tool!

He is pretty vile and bitter, just like his characters. You have to wonder how sick he is himself irl.

The Jodie Foster one was best.

by Anonymousreply 4104/21/2013

Vile man

by Anonymousreply 4204/22/2013

A prime example of how insane this asshole is: While he was tweeting that Matt Bomer could never ever be in 50 Shades because the movie was "too big a game," he was trying to get his straight porn star obsession, James Deen, cast in the same role!

by Anonymousreply 4304/23/2013

I don't know if he is vile or not and I really don't feel like judging him.

by Anonymousreply 4404/24/2013

R43 I don't think BEE is wrong about Hollywood's unwillingness to cast openly gay actors in lead straight roles in major movies. Matt Bomer has no chance in hell of getting that role in 50 Shades.

by Anonymousreply 4504/25/2013

He really is vile. He's one of those forever angry queens who resents not being the prettiest, liked or loved/respected (Matt,NPH, Jodie). Instead he will bitch and moan and think he's above it all, when in reality, he really really wished he was accepted by them. But successful people like Jodie, Matt etc, don't even know who he is.

He's angry at GLAAD for ignoring him. If they had invited him, he would have creamed all over them.
