I hate people who dart out of stores without concern for oncoming pedestrians.

I work in NYC (live in NJ), and people there do this all the time. They walk blindly out of stores, usually on their phone or texting, bumping into foot traffic. Then they give you a dirty look because you didn't (unjustly) yield to them. It comes down to their sense of entitlement, and I absolutely loathe them. Out of consideration for others, I always look before exiting a store to make sure no one is walking by. I don't understand why everyone else can't do this.

I occasionally trip people to do that, then step on their face.

I'm with you, OP. Let's hunt some down and kill them.

I find them to be annoying, hate is such a strong word...and a waste of energy.

I always use my turn signals.

Look at me, OP! I'm darting as I speak, just to annoy you!

Why don't you send your maid to the store?

by Anonymousreply 604/20/2013

Then stay the hell out of my way as I'm trying to make a clean getaway.

I'm walking here!

I recently saw someone walk out of a store, head down and texting furiously and crash straight into someone walking into the store doing the same thing. Each glared with fury at the other. There is no fraternity of assholes.

Didn't happen. New Yorkers are friendly people.
