Seth MacFarlane Asked To Host Oscars Again in 2014
Seth MacFarlane has been asked to return as the host for the 2014 Academy Awards, sources exclusively reveal to JustJared.com.
The 39-year-old Family Guy creator hosted this year’s ceremony to acclaim from many critics, but also caused controversy with some of the jokes he made throughout the show. Despite the controversy, the ratings for the 2013 Oscars ceremony were up significantly over the year before with 40.3 million viewers tuning in.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who hired Seth for this year’s show, will be returning to helm next year’s show as well.
“After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again,” sources close to the comedian tell JustJared.com exclusively. “He’s not sure if he’s going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks.”
Seth previously tweeted that he would not host the Oscars if he were asked to do it again. We can’t wait to find out if he accepts the gig!
It's the end of the world as we know it.
I thought he was great, and ended the show early,
Why do they keep going with old farts?
Get someone under thirty, for shits sake.
No one under thirty cares about Academy Awards....except fags.
Countdown to Jane Fonda's pointless and hypocritical letter of complaint.

That's like Wikipedia being your insider source.
He did a good job.
Too many idiots gave Seth needless grief last time.
I hope he accepts.
Unsurprising, since after Ricky Gervais was so insulting and obnoxious the first time hosting the GGs they still brought him back again because he increased the ratings.
Still, that does not take away from the fact that he, r2, r3, and r4 are cretins.
He gave so many interviews saying he'd never do it again, it will be interesting if he agrees to it.
If he accepts, it means even he has a price. So he'll be a whore who hosts the Oscars for the second time.
I like Seth, but he wasn't good.

He has no choice. We have a contract.
Will our American tragedies NEVER end??
Pathetic. I was shocked that the asked the same lame producers back after such a dreadful show (one of the worst Oscarcasts I've ever witnessed).
I can't imagine he'd want to do it again.
Of course he has a price. The chance to inflict his embarrassing singing again on an audience of a billion.
Yes he can sing the notes, but who needs another Buble or Harry Connick Jr.?
He is no better than that. But he dream sequences that he is Sinatra, Bennett and Vic Damone all in one.

Hosting the Oscars does not pay well. You get scale pay.
One does not do it for the money. It is a lot of work and a thankless task.
He gets to sing. Priceless.
He was ghastly and I won't watch it. The fact that his ego out-schmucks the rest of the crowd in the theater combined doesn't make me want to see his smug asshole crapping all over the stage again.
R22, you may not like Seth or Buble, but that is NO excuse for comparing them to Harry Connick Jr.
Do you want to be in show biz? Come in, sit down and tell us ALL about yourself....Please, get comfortable.
If you want the frat boy kinda humor MacFarlane delivered then you might as well go with a younger, hotter host.
If that is the case, I will miss it for the first time in 65 years.
Seth? Meh. Zsa Zsa? I'd definitely watch.

I love the "even he"--like he's Nelson Mandela or Jimmy Carter or something in terms of personal integrity.
Well, he'd better sing a prick song next time!
