I'f someone borrowed $26 in 1986 and never paid it back until now....

How much should I collect?

by Anonymousreply 2904/19/2013

Zero.

Statute of limitations.

by Anonymousreply 104/18/2013

Zero.

Realistically.

by Anonymousreply 204/18/2013

But it her idea to pay!!! She has been guilt ridden over it. We were only like 10 so it was a big deal.

She feels the sin of not paying me back has caused her life to derail. (yes she's a religious nut) So how much should I charge?

by Anonymousreply 304/18/2013

$26 unless you fixed an interest rate at the time.

by Anonymousreply 404/18/2013

Tell her $50 for inflation and interest.

by Anonymousreply 504/18/2013

She's sort of fun...kind of reminds me of Piper Laurie in Carrie.

by Anonymousreply 604/18/2013

Principle and a trip to your downtown - a visit to your snackateria, a taste of your lady ham, some linguistics on the labia.

by Anonymousreply 704/18/2013

Inflation only:

What cost $26 in 1986 would cost $53.58 in 2012.

So I'd say $55 would seem appropriate... rounding up.

by Anonymousreply 804/18/2013

r6 was me

by Anonymousreply 904/18/2013

In 1986, an LP probably cost around $10. Now a CD (not discounted) costs about $20. So R8's suggestions of $55 sounds pretty good.

by Anonymousreply 1004/18/2013

Go far away..

by Anonymousreply 1104/18/2013

2% interest over the years would be $58.36

by Anonymousreply 1204/18/2013

According to this site, $55.22...

by Anonymousreply 1304/18/2013

Never lend anything to anybody expecting to actually get it back.

by Anonymousreply 1404/18/2013

Return the gesture to make things right by accepting the $26.

by Anonymousreply 1504/18/2013

What ten year old in 1986 had $26 to spare?

by Anonymousreply 1604/18/2013

Ditto what R17 said. Fifty bucks to charity.

Done.

by Anonymousreply 1804/18/2013

Also a vote for R17s idea.

by Anonymousreply 1904/18/2013

What kind of person charges their friend interest?

by Anonymousreply 2004/18/2013

You should've had her kneecaps broken YEARS ago.

by Anonymousreply 2104/18/2013

Sadly, it will take more than twenty-six dollars to get a life.

by Anonymousreply 2204/19/2013

Another 80s thread.

by Anonymousreply 2304/19/2013

Just tell her to take you out for dinner/lunch or something.

by Anonymousreply 2404/19/2013

HA HA HA

by Anonymousreply 2504/19/2013

Yeah I'm with R16, what ten year old has $26?

by Anonymousreply 2604/19/2013

What a random amount. What was it used for OP?

by Anonymousreply 2704/19/2013

$32.00, their Members Only jacket, their VHS copy of "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome", and their "Top Gun" Soundtrack cassette. That is all. Next case!

by Anonymousreply 2804/19/2013

Manhattan.
