Speaking of pressure cookers...

What are the best brands? Recipes?

I went through a macroneurotic phase and used one, but was always vaguely afraid it would blow up, so I got rid of it when i ditched the brown rice/veggie diet.

Here's a very good Presto pressure cooker. I think Presto makes the very best heavy-duty pressure cookers.

OP you don't want to cook yourself. Head over to KFC, they pressure cook all their chicken.

I agree with R2. You won't go wrong with a Presto.

OP, 3 lbs of Ammonium Nitrate, 1 gallon diesel fuel, one 9 volt battery, one alarm clock, copper wire, a pinch of salt. A recipe to die for!

Has anyone used an electric one?

by Anonymousreply 604/17/2013

I have a Cuisinart electric, R6.

I got an electric digital one by Wolfgang Puck. It fine-tunes settings depending on what you're cooking. The timer turns it off at the end of the cooking period, and pressure is slowly released.

You set it and forget it.

Is there going to be a run on pressure cookers?

Before background checks are put into place that is.

Like most Kitchen products available for sale, there is only 1 brand today - Made in China

I can't decide if R1 is oblivious or brilliant.

What the best recipes that will blow your guests away?

by Anonymousreply 1204/17/2013

A nice chicken, roofing nails and ball bearings, r12.

R1's "macroneurotic" is decidedly funny. I did that for a time and the expression fits perfectly.
