Sugar Walls

That song should have been more popular.

I agree, R2. It went to #11 on the Hot 100 and it was a #1 club hit and a #2 R&B hit. It's just as funky as "The Glamorous Life".

Wasn't it a Top 10 hit back in '85 or '86?

R4, look at R3.

REALLY loved this, always liked it more than The Glamorous Life. Played the hell out of that record!

by Anonymousreply 604/10/2013

It seemed like a big hit to me back then, they played it to death on the radio. I still like it.

The album version is over 12 minutes long. That's Prince for ya!

One of only three top 40 hits for Ms. E.

The Glamorous Life was her biggest, peaking at No. 7 in October 1984.

A Love Bizarre spent one week at No. 11 in March 1986.

The Belle of St. mark spent four weeks at No. 34 in December 1984, her only other Top 40 appearance.

Didn't Prince and Sheila E have a long video version. I think he was shirtless in it. He looked sexy in it.

by Anonymousreply 1004/10/2013

Prince actually performed this sng when I saw him in Chicago last year, as well as the Glamourous Life. It was great!

The only video I remember for ALB is the one that was culled together from "Krush Groove"

Remixed by the amazing DJ Solomun out of the Diynamic label in Hamburg. This tore up Ibiza last summer.

by Anonymousreply 1304/10/2013

Oh, I always thought it was A Love Bazaar.

Love Bizarre is kinkier but classier than a sex romp.

1 of my favorite Sheila E songs is "Noon Rendezvous" It's VERY sexy but not slutty.
