States with lax gun laws have the highest shares of gun deaths and injuries.

While many factors contribute to the rates of gun violence in any state, our research clearly demonstrates a significant correlation between the strength of a state’s gun laws and the prevalence of gun violence in the state. Across the key indicators of gun violence that we analyzed, the 10 states with the weakest gun laws collectively have a level of gun violence that is more than twice as high—104 percent higher—than the 10 states with the strongest gun laws.

Interesting that many are the 'reddest' states...

It really is so simple. Around the world deaths from guns are directly correlated with their numbers per captita and availability. Period.

The NRA is evil incarnate.

Since the late 60s over 1 million people killed in the US by guns! It really is astounding. Never mind the stats of the probablity of you or your family being killed by a gun increasing exponentially by the simple fact that you have gun(s) in your home.

As Alfred E Newman used to say, "What me worry".

The "lax gun laws" reflect the social make up of the local populations.
