Tell President Obama to issue an Executive Order requiring the mandatory labeling of GMOs.

President Obama has really dropped the ball here. He has essentially gutted the FDA oversight and allowed a potentially dangerous food monopoly to gain even more steam. Our corporatocracy is one more step closer. I am saddened and angry. Monsanto has nearly cornered the seed market on corn, soybeans and cotton. Now they are even more empowered

He didn't drop the ball. Unfortunately he is doing what they (Monsanto) paid him to do.

What you are talking about would be better adressed though antitrust enforcement.

when Obama pulls this kind of shit I just fucking detest him. what the hell is his problem?

In politics you have to be someone's bitch in order to save you from all the other bullies (= lobbies) and their wrath because you don't make them and their agenda your number one priority.

Obama has been bought and sold.

In 2007:

Obama promised 'immediate' labeling of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) amid serious demand for labeling from upwards of 93-95% of citizens conservatively based on numbers from numerous polling organizations. 5 years later, the promise for GMO labeling has not been fulfilled. Instead, Obama appointed Monsanto VP Michael Taylor as an adviser to the FDA. He currently occupies another key position in the FDA. Why has Obama not kept his promise to label GMOs within the United States to protect consumers and allow them a more informed decision when shopping for themselves and their families?

Even Democratic leaders aren't immune to corporate extortion.

Inserted into the bill, courtesy of Maryland Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski. Whodathunkit?

Monsanto Rider authored and championed by Jack Kingston (R-Ga.)

Barbara chaired the committee and approved the insertion.

So it was a bi-partisan effort. Monsanto's money goes to both parties

ALL who voted for this travesty should be voted out of office

Hmmm I wonder if Kingston will have the balls to show his face on Bill Maher again? Bill's obsessed with this issue.
