Men's Workout Magazine - RIP

The beloved stealth-porn standard has disappeared from newsstands and has not released an issue since last August.

No more exercise tips from male strip revues? (Most pictures of them dancing, I picture of them using a dumbbell.)

by Anonymousreply 103/25/2013

Speaking of dumbbells, Joe Weider died over the weekend. He made bodybuilding with dumbbells and other instruments of torture popular.

He was hot too.

Really was one of the gayest magazines out there.

by Anonymousreply 303/25/2013

Is that the magazine that featured Aaron Schock's buffed pecs?

by Anonymousreply 403/25/2013

I don't think it was gay porn in disguise. I sure never looked at it that way.

by Anonymousreply 503/25/2013

You've gotta be kidding, R5.

Not Men's Exercise or Men's Health but Men's Workout.

by Anonymousreply 603/25/2013

Men's Workout got me through my junior high years happy.

by Anonymousreply 703/25/2013

R5 is probably thinking of Men's Health, which is the "least" gay of the fitness mags (although it was the one that had Aaron Schock on the cover.)

Men's Workout regularly featured gay porn stars like Lex Baldwin here in very over the top, eroticized poses.

There was this guy who would interview the fitness models and would practically get a boner while he wrote about them.

by Anonymousreply 903/25/2013

WHET to Exercise for Men Only? That one didn't even bother to hide its gayness.

by Anonymousreply 1003/25/2013

I guess its just because I find endless pics of over built up men, shaved etc, completely sexless.

by Anonymousreply 1103/25/2013

"Men's Exercise" was always very transparent... hell, the name was even somewhat subliminal. Look at some covers and see how it's emphasized: "Men'[bold]sEX[/bold]ercise"

It's pretty blatent once you see it.

Teh interwebs killed soft-core gay porn.

How many different tips for six-pack abs can you fit around a centerfold?

How can you possibly objectify a man's body with the current styles of workout-wear?

by Anonymousreply 1303/25/2013

And always the half-hearted two-page spread on how to please your woman.

by Anonymousreply 1403/25/2013

Any fitness magazine that featured ads from the likes of "Musclehunks.com" could not be taken seriously.
