Carol Channing's New Album

This may be the saddest thing I've heard all year. Poor thing, she sounds like she's being played back at half-speed. She can hold a tune, but just barely. I'm not sure whether is amazingly, bizarrely cheesy and campy, or just plain embarrassing. I think whoever allowed this project to go forward should be drawn and quartered.

Corn? Oh my word, yes. In abundance.

The sample of "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" doesn't even have her singing. "St. Louis Blues" is hysterical.

Yeah, it kinda reminds me of Anita O'Day's final "album."

Someone named pollyprisypants gave to 5 stars, so that should be enough of a rave for anyone.

Sorry she didn't include "Widow's Weeds."

She sounds like she's singing from the grave.

You guys must have not heard Ethel Merman's disco album.

by Anonymousreply 503/25/2013

Has she still not had enough attention? Take a break already, lady.

by Anonymousreply 603/25/2013

You must admit, there aren't a lot of recordings being made of songs like these.

by Anonymousreply 703/25/2013

Bitch could never really sing anyway.
