Michele Bachmann Turns Tail and Flees Interviewer
God forbid conservatives should actually be held accountable for their lies. Michele Bachmann, who has a history of saying the most ridiculous, outrageous things about President Obama and who holds herself up as a high and mighty holy roller, has some real problems with the truth.
When CNN confronts her, she dodges and feints and ultimately runs. In the process, she looks like the liar and fool she is. Via Mediaite
For Tuesday night's "Keeping Them Honest" segment, CNN host Anderson Cooper turned to Dana Bash's encounter with Rep. Michele Bachmann who, asked about comments she made about President Obama enjoying a lavish lifestyle at the taxpayer's expense, repeatedly dodged the questions and "literally raced away." Bash was "speechless."
"A new book is out talking about the perks and the excess of the $1.4-billion-a-year presidency that we're paying for," Bachmann said in the speech. "And this is a lifestyle that is one of excess." She added:
"Now we find out that there are five chefs on Air Force One. There are two projectionists who operate the White House movie theater. They regularly sleep at the White House in order to be readily available in case the first family wants a really, really late show."
Bash sought to confront her about those comments — which got four Pinocchios from the Washington Post — and found herself chasing after the congresswoman. "She literally raced away from our Dana Bash," Cooper remarked.
Gee, I wonder why. It's one thing to drop BS on stupid CPAC attendees, and quite another to actually have to answer for it. The day she is booted from Congress will be a day of celebration for me. She's just clinging to Sarah Palin's heels for the Worst Conservative Woman ever.

It will be a good day in America when the likes of Bachman, Limbaugh, Coulter et al go away for good

MSNBC just showed a clip of her beseeching her colleagues to repeal the Affordable Care Act because it's going to kill women, it's going to kill children, it's going to kill... This despite 30+ failed attempts to repeal it.

A whole new take on evading the press.

Maybe you should report this guy to the FBI & Homeland Security & Interpol for making international threats on the internet:

Michelle Bachmann is lying lying lying. Every word she says is a lie.
And her marriage is a lie, too, obviously. As the clip below shows...
|by Anonymous||reply 7||03/21/2013|
I wonder if any of the 15 or so foster kids the family has taken in would do a Levi Johnston type of expose on the Bachmanns. That would be one hell of an interesting tale.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||03/21/2013|
It's really scary how stupid this woman is. Isn't she a tax lawyer or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 9||03/21/2013|
Yes. She studied to become a tax lawyer because -- Marcus told her to. I'm not kidding. She wasn't particularly interested but she obeyed her husband, just like she obeyed that voice from God that told her to marry Marcus. Her degree is from Oral Roberts.

This story was posted on a another general discussion board I read and a woman actually posted in response, "Why can't the media just leave Michele Bachmann alone? She doesn't have to prove anything!" Just from that alone, you can easily tell the woman's political stance. Luckily, other posters chimed in, all of them saying that, especially as a politician, Bachmann should HAVE to prove her statements.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||03/21/2013|
Can't believe she's on the Intelligence Committee.
“Michele Bachmann has used her position on the Intelligence Committee to spread baseless conspiracy theories and smear the reputations of honorable public servants,” said Michael Keegan, president of PFAW. “Speaker Boehner himself called her actions ‘dangerous.’ It’s mysterious, then, why he has chosen to reward her reckless extremism with continued access to sensitive national security information and a powerful platform for her agenda.”
|by Anonymous||reply 12||03/21/2013|
Her repeated cries of Benghazi Benghazi almost come off like this is some kind of a parody of the typical right wing lunatic. Something out of SNL. Scary stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||03/21/2013|
I wish to hell someone would out Michelle Bachmann's husband.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||03/21/2013|
She is insane. She lies all the time, with a straight face, without pausing. And she does that weird thing where responds to a question about something by talking about something completely different (and lying). Nuts. Good for Dana for trying to call her on her nutty shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||03/21/2013|
Someone should put together a series of clips of her lying and acting weird and her husband, too. This could be in it. Comedy Gold. I also liked the one where the audience laughed at her in the debate.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||03/21/2013|
Don't you have to have *some* intelligence to be on the Intelligence Committee?
|by Anonymous||reply 18||03/21/2013|
If only they'd chased her out into moving traffic.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||03/21/2013|
Republican't tell the truth, because truth doesn't work with their agenda!
|by Anonymous||reply 20||03/21/2013|
Do you not agree our president lives a life of excess, well above his personal means?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||03/21/2013|
You don't have to be intelligent to be president.
Rubio, another genius, is on one of the "intelligence" committees as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||03/21/2013|
Our president lives a life befitting the President of the United States of America.
What is your problem with that?
|by Anonymous||reply 23||03/21/2013|
In times of budgetary and economic issues he abuses the treasury while asking Americans to cut back. Hypocritical in the highest order.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||03/21/2013|
No way does the president live in excess. Bachmann is a liar and she knows it...that's why she wouldn't talk about it. She was lying and someone caught her at it.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||03/21/2013|
The president is obligated to pay for all groceries and personal items for the family's use. It's always been that way, hasn't it?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||03/21/2013|
Do you not agree our president lives a life of excess, well above his personal means?
possibly? but other presidents were better? you must be joking!
|by Anonymous||reply 27||03/21/2013|
And you are ok with the $1m+ one way flights to Hawaii when we pay for a house, granted small and dated in a shitty city, and a remote camp. He abuses the position to get things he could never afford on his own. End of story.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||03/21/2013|
She's lying; don't believe her bullshit. And why did she want to move to Switzerland?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||03/21/2013|
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy a dinner that I can afford... old peoples' excrement!
|by Anonymous||reply 30||03/21/2013|
R30. Sweetie you couldn't be more wrong. The Obamas are poor and living high on an expense account. Trash.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||03/21/2013|
How dare any American be fucking poor!!!
Off with their heads!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||03/21/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 33||03/21/2013|

Not only false, it's rather stupidly false, which is why you can't even be bothered to try to provide any data to back up this rather silly assertion.
End of story.
End of your story, certainly.

So the Obamas could afford million dollar flights and vacations in Hawaii and the cape? No
|by Anonymous||reply 40||03/21/2013|
So the Obamas could afford million dollar flights and vacations in Hawaii and the cape?
Sigh.... Moron, the Obamas could easily afford vacations anywhere they choose. They could even easily afford to fly first class anywhere they choose. Their flights are expensive because of security, which the Obamas have no control over.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||03/21/2013|
Bush Spent 5 Times More On Flights To Texas Than Obama’s Christmas Vacation Costs
|by Anonymous||reply 42||03/21/2013|
Those who criticize the cost of Obama’s Christmas vacation don’t want you to know that George W. Bush spent at least $20 million taxpayer dollars just on flights to his ranch in Crawford.
The right wing has been outraged at the four million dollar plus price tag for Obama’s family Christmas vacation, and they constantly hold George W. Bush up as an example of how thrifty a president should be when going on vacation.
The problem is that W. wasn’t thrifty. He was the most expensive vacation president in US history. Not only did Bush spend more days on vacation than any other president, but he used Air Force One more often while on vacation than any other president.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||03/21/2013|
Why do people on this site continue to engage with trolls? Don't you know that ignoring them is the worst thing you can do to them?
|by Anonymous||reply 44||03/21/2013|
It seems to me that the cost of the vacations is not the issue, it's BENGHAZI BEBGHAZI FOUR DEAD AMERICANS BENGHAZI
|by Anonymous||reply 45||03/21/2013|
It's just so typical of the way these dipshits operate --
Bachmann: (all indignant) "How can you be talking about dog handlers when four people have been killed?!?"
Bash: (Uhm) You [italic]brought[/italic] it up (you freakin' moron).
|by Anonymous||reply 46||03/21/2013|
Bachmann's main tactic is to keep talking over any reasonable questioning of her facts, divert and keep talking, talking, talking. Then, I guess when that doesn't work, just trot right on out of there in your tight little Ferragamo pumps.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||03/21/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 48||03/21/2013|
"Why can't the media just leave Michele Bachmann alone? She doesn't have to prove anything!"
That same frau mentality is here at DL in other threads.
"Why can't you people just leave Tom Cruise alone? He doesn't have to prove anything!"
"Why can't you people just leave Anderson Cooper alone? He doesn't have to prove anything!"
"Why can't you people just leave John Travolta alone? He doesn't have to prove anything!"
|by Anonymous||reply 49||03/21/2013|
The myth that the White House is spending way more than it should is something that the right-wing has tried to propagate somewhat successfully among its constituents during the last few years. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t hold water when it comes down to the actual facts. That’s when they get Fox to bleat about the “liberal media,” which is actually just journalists being honest and reporting the facts (well, sometimes). In fact, Obama’s White House spends 200 million less per year than President Bush’s did, but you don’t hear Bachmann trumpeting about this trend in presidential spending. Once again, despicable dishonesty.
Do you not agree our president lives a life of excess, well above his personal means?
Translation: Don't you agree that he's an uppity black man, trying to live like a white person?
(These people seem to forget that, among other things, he's made millions off his bestselling books.)
|by Anonymous||reply 52||03/21/2013|
She's always getting caught up in lies. There has to be a lot of very stupid people in her district who keep sending her back to DC to represent them. She's a major liar. Her whole life is a lie -- especially considering the pathetic self-hating closet case she married.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||03/21/2013|
Notice the freeper troll, when confronted with fact, fled. Familiar attribute?
|by Anonymous||reply 54||03/21/2013|
[R52] You hit it right on the head. The right wing nutjob bigots can't stand that a NEGRO is in the WHITE House, and what's more, he is uppity, as is his wife, who thinks she should act like a First Lady! Don't they know First Ladies are WHITE ladies!?!?! And those two daughters are just future Welfare Queens in training and will pregnant before they're 18!
|by Anonymous||reply 55||03/21/2013|
And you are ok with the $1m+ one way flights to Hawaii.
Yeah, because George W. Bush walked to Texas, and Ronald and Nancy Reagan bicycled to their California Rancho Cielo!

Well, would you get into a car with Pickles driving?
|by Anonymous||reply 59||03/22/2013|
R52, R55 - please try to come up with another argument besides race. You can disagree with Obama without being a racist. More of an anti-socialism, can't stand Obamacare, lack of tolerance for hipocracy and arrogance thing for me. Couldn't give a fuck less about race.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||03/22/2013|
I'm out of breath just watching the two of them walk/jog.
Dana Bash looks fierce! At least until you see her face close-up.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||03/22/2013|
I wish everyone would see that and realize that Bachmann is a lying bitch.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||03/23/2013|
please try to come up with another argument besides race.
Why? Occam's Razor applies here.
You can disagree with Obama without being a racist.
Except that people aren't "disagree[ing] with Obama;" they're lying about him, about his positions, about his spending habits, and so on. Bachmann's diatribe is a classic example.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||03/25/2013|
R64. You are the proof in the pudding. Obama is a cunt. Bachman is a cunt. Politicians are cunts. Democrats seem to be incapable od criticizing their own. A sure sign of lemming disease.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||03/25/2013|
You are the proof in the pudding.
ROFL.... You might want to look up that aphorism before you try to use it again. Hint: you don't have it right.
And no, sadly for you, I'm not.
Obama is a cunt. Bachman is a cunt. Politicians are cunts.
Wow, I guess you told me. With debating skills like that, how can I possibly compete?
Democrats seem to be incapable od criticizing their own. A sure sign of lemming disease.
Except that nobody here has any problem criticizing Obama. We just have a problem with people lying about him. Now what was that you were saying about "proof" and "pudding?"
|by Anonymous||reply 66||03/25/2013|
R66. Thank you for proving points.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||03/25/2013|
Oh, there's a point being proved here, R67, but I really doubt it's the one you think. Thanks for a hilariously entertaining exchange, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||03/25/2013|
The thread topic is Michele Bachmann's well-established tendency to lie. I'm not sure why R65/67 likens pointing out her mendacity to a refusal to critique Obama. Why should we critique him on the subject of expenses? They are lower than his predecessor's. Is that unacceptable to you R65?
Or should our statements about Bachmann's lies also contain an Obama critique even if it deviates from the subject? For example, Bachmann lies, but Obama's drone policy sucks. Is this the route you would like for us to have taken, R65?

Since when is the media all of a sudden worried about honest politicians?
|by Anonymous||reply 70||03/25/2013|
It bothers me that the Republican party is doing this PR make-over by getting rid of that tea bagger baggage. My only hope is that this doesn't lead to a new more likeable public image but to the party imploding with all those overly conservative right wing fanatics leaving and forming their own fringe groups.

"[R52], [R55] - please try to come up with another argument besides race. You can disagree with Obama without being a racist."
Exactly. Now try it. Here's a hint: it would involve actually criticizing his actual policies and actions, not using tea bag bad nigger trigger words like welfare, food stamps, and moocher to refer to two millionaire lawyers and their private school educated daughters and the lifestyle they lead which is completely proportionate with their current position and existing education, income and wealth. If you can't do that, then you don't even understand your own mind, which means you have bigger problems than the Obamas.
