Alfre Woodard has been nominated for 17 Emmys

I knew she has been nominated for several, but that's a vanload! What other actors have been nominated for a large number (that is, more than 15 or so)?

And can we just generally discuss the fabulousness that is the divine Miss Woodard? I've loved her since St. Elsewhere, and my favorite Alfre performance was from Passion Fish.

Her nomination for her role on Desperate Housewives is one of worst nominations ever!

I love her too OP. I think I fell in love with her watching Heart and Souls.

Angie Lansbury has been nominated for more Emmys and lost each and every one of them

Then there is Susan Lucci

Yes, i agree she is great! I really liked Alfre particularly in these movies:

Passion Fish

Cross Creek

What's Cooking?

Crooklyn

12 Years a Slave

Irrelevant, but her husband is white.

What about 'Down in the Delta'? One of her best movies.
