A minor fax pas.

The war was an unmitigated success for those who planned it and profited from it.

By making a massive batch of my 9/11 inspired Let's Roll Cinnamon Rolls™ of course!

by Anonymousreply 403/19/2013

Attacking the 9/11 widows is like attacking Otto Frank. After all, he got a best-seller out of his Holocaust experience, didn't he?

I finger paint with my poo poo!

Are you Ann Coulter, R4 and R6? You sound just like her.

The worst dictator of the 21st century was brought to justice.

Villepin got it right

by Anonymousreply 1103/19/2013

Oh, R10, your Lisa Beamer jokes weren't funny ten years ago and they grow less funny with every passing year.

There would have been no 9/11 Commission had the 9/11 Widows not lobbied Congress for 18 months. The Congress, the Bush administration, the US media and the Neo-cons were all firmly opposed to there ever being an investigation into 9/11. I wonder why.

by Anonymousreply 1203/19/2013

Ah I cannot wait to see the spin when Obama invades North Korea, Iran, Syria or some other hot spot.

by Anonymousreply 1303/19/2013

R13, luckily Obama is not invasion happy like Bush.

by Anonymousreply 1403/19/2013

R13, unlikely, he's given no indication as such.

Bush was rattling sabers about Iraq as soon as he came to office.

The Iraq war wasn't a black-and-white affair.

There were 3 available options how to deal with Iraq:

1) continuing the sanctions regime

2) going to war

3) letting Saddam do whatever he wanted

None of these options were good. But there was no fourth one.

Of course there are lots of things to criticize about the way the war was conducted, and there's a good case to be made that it was a bad mistake altogether.

But many critics of the war (particularly the passionate, hyperbolic ones) ignore the available alternatives - alternatives which may very well have led to equally bad outcomes.

by Anonymousreply 1603/19/2013

The whole justification of the war, R16, was to stablize the Middle East.

On that point alone, the mission was a complete and utter failure. The ME is as much a powder keg now than it was 10 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 1703/19/2013

No, Revisionists, the purpose of the invasion of Iraq was to protect us from attack by Saddam Hussein and his WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION that Colin Powell appeared before the UN General Assembly to LIE ABOUT. Lest the "smoking gun be a mushroom cloud" said Condaleeza Rice

The rest is Revisionist Republican propaganda BULLSHIT!
