Rockabilly guys

You know. White T-shirts or bowling shirts. Sleeve tattoos. Tight jeans with turned-up cuffs. Converse sneakers or wingtips. Pomade in the hair.

I think this look is really hot on some men, as long as they can carry it off without looking costume-y or like they're on their way to a theme party.

Is there such a thing as a gay rockabilly scene anywhere?

by Anonymousreply 1908/06/2014

I wish. I think they might be slightly homophobic.

Is this the 1950's again?

by Anonymousreply 203/10/2013

That scene is so boring. Really. Once you get to know those people, you realize how much time they spend primping to maintain the image. They're as bad as drag queens.

Sexy rockabilly? Here you go, OP:

Charlie Sexton was really beautiful in his younger days.

by Anonymousreply 503/10/2013

Did someone say "rockabilly?"

by Anonymousreply 603/10/2013

It doesn't always work though. There used to be a guy I'd see at the bars who tried to work it. He had the entire rockabilly drag going on including the obligatory pinup tattoos on his nonexistent biceps.

Haven't seen him in a while.

They all look like they're wearing costumes.

This thread means nothing without pictures

Typical 'mo like the Stray Cats.

If they were Stray Dogs, he's hate them.

By the way, it's not 1983 anymore.

Not really a popular look in the gay community though. Where do guys who are into that kind of guys go, some retro diner's gay night out?

by Anonymousreply 1103/11/2013

Seattle

Would Jimmy Ray qualify as one? He was a bit too "pretty" to be a real rockabilly type to me, but he affected the look and the clothing.

by Anonymousreply 1303/12/2013

Rockabilly butt sex.

by Anonymousreply 1403/12/2013

Lee Rocker from the Stray Cats was such a CJB back in the 80s. Brian wasn't too shabby either.

by Anonymousreply 1708/05/2014

You mean like the "Boz Boorer" look? I think of that as a British-transplant-in-L.A. kind of look, like Morrissey's whole backup band. It's kind of a hot, fetishy, pickup kind of thing.
