I'm having someone recently on the wagon so I'm thinking low carb to help with cravings. Also his liver hurts. Any suggestions?

Low carb is not going to help him with his cravings. Good grief. He's craving carbs so feed them to him so he doesn't have to drink. This is not the time to micromanage his food intake.

We used to eat that in the olden college days, before America had ramen noodles. We would buy canned tuna and canned tiny shrimp. We'd chop up some celery and dump it and the shrimp in something called Golden Tomato soup, pour it over brown rice we bought from the followers of the teenaged Indian guru who lived up the road and have "shrimp gumbo." We'd put the tuna in one of the Cream of soups --probably mushroom --and dump it over brown rice.

Beef and sausage Lasagna, extra deep. A big tossed salad with Italian dressing. Whole wheat rolls with sea salt and butter. Dark chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
My college age nephew and his roomates were here for a visit and needed a real dinner.
If I ate like this all the time I'd be 250 pounds!

I always prepare food in the morning to heat and serve later. Today I made a green curry lentil and bulgur dish with fresh spinach wilted in when served, topped with greek yogurt. I used the dark green speckled french lentils. Then I made a carrot apple salad with medjool dates and walnuts.
