I just watched the rape scene from the rape of Richard Beck

I feel really sick right now. Rape is not pretty. The poor guy was beaten 'til he was blue and he was bleeding everywhere.

I suppose violence will always happen during rape.

Only When It's Rape Rape

by Anonymousreply 103/09/2013

Who is Richard Beck? I used to work for a Richard Beck and he deserved a little violence.

by Anonymousreply 203/09/2013

Richard Crenna movie; he played a cop who wasn't always sympathetic to sexual assault victims.

Then, he was raped by two criminals.

He probably never would have come forward but someone saw it happen from a distance. The rapists didn't see the other person so they didn't know they were being watched.

I haven't seen it in years but I remember it was pretty gruesome.

It's one thing to have an assertive seducer and you end up liking it a bit. It's another to have the living shit be beaten out of you and then you get fucked and it's not fun.

He won an Emmy for his performance

by Anonymousreply 503/10/2013

See, Lifetime movies DO make a difference. The OP just realized rape is wrong.

by Anonymousreply 603/10/2013

I remember seeing the ads for this when I was a teenager and my mother asked, How can a man rape another man? I knew then I'd have a difficult time explaining I was gay.

by Anonymousreply 703/10/2013

He was askin' for it.

by Anonymousreply 803/10/2013

I could have sworn this was a 70's movie of the week.

by Anonymousreply 903/10/2013

Did you jerk off?

by Anonymousreply 1003/10/2013

Forcing somebody to have sex with you is a violent act. I don't know why people find that such a hard concept to grasp.

by Anonymousreply 1103/10/2013

Meh - wasn't much of a scene at all.

by Anonymousreply 1203/10/2013

[quote]I suppose violence will always happen during rape.

What R11 said. Rape IS violence, OP. It's not like rape is a sex act with a garnish of violence. The whole thing is a violent act.

Try to keep up here.

by Anonymousreply 1303/10/2013

That was quite a gutsy role to take on for an actor like Richard Crenna at the time.

by Anonymousreply 1403/10/2013

[quote]Did you jerk off?

A lot of people fantasize about domination. If you fantasize that someone is overpowering you, it's hot. If you fantasize over the hurting of someone, THAT'S when it's bad.

So stop with the negative nelly preaching, some people like to fantasize about domination. It's all fantasy.

by Anonymousreply 1503/10/2013

OP, what are you trying to do here?

by Anonymousreply 1603/10/2013

Somebody is trying to get the point across that domination is bad.

by Anonymousreply 1703/10/2013

He totally deserved that Emmy.

by Anonymousreply 1803/10/2013

R9, I think it was a MOW. (Boy, I miss those!)

They might have re-titled it for a DVD release.

by Anonymousreply 1903/10/2013

Yeah, it was on ABC in 1985.

by Anonymousreply 2003/10/2013

I thought it spoke highly of Crenna's professionalism to play Blanche's gay brother while simultaneously portraying a victim of male rape.

by Anonymousreply 2103/10/2013

It was kind of based on Deliverance if I remember right, with the squeal like a pig thing. Very ahead of the time and challenging for something on TV.

by Anonymousreply 2203/10/2013

So funny! As if a man could actually be "raped" by another man!

That's just silly.

by Anonymousreply 2303/10/2013

I like rape.

by Anonymousreply 2403/10/2013

Didn't Meredith Baxter play a an advocate for rape victims in the movie?

by Anonymousreply 2503/10/2013

Meredith deserves alot of credit for 'My Breast'.

by Anonymousreply 2603/10/2013

Such a stupid movie, and boring scene. Epic fail, OP.

by Anonymousreply 2703/10/2013

Is male rape rare?

by Anonymousreply 2803/10/2013

[quote]I thought it spoke highly of Crenna's professionalism to play Blanche's gay brother while simultaneously portraying a victim of male rape.

Nope. Blanche's gay bro was played by Monte Markham.

by Anonymousreply 2903/10/2013

The hefty bald one who raped Crenna in the movie is the late Nicholas Worth, star of the '80s sleazefest "Don't Answer The Phone".
