One trick ponies...

Actors and directors who do the same thing over and over.

by Anonymousreply 3503/09/2013

How about producers?

by Anonymousreply 103/09/2013

Right here r1

by Anonymousreply 203/09/2013

by Anonymousreply 303/09/2013

Kristen Stewart.

Kristen Stewart.

Kristen Stewart.

by Anonymousreply 403/09/2013

Maggie Smith.

And the gays love her for it.

Sometimes you can be a one trick pony and get away with it if you are good at the trick.

by Anonymousreply 503/09/2013

Artists are the masters of this.

by Anonymousreply 603/09/2013

Jack Nicholson

by Anonymousreply 703/09/2013

So true, Roy.

by Anonymousreply 803/09/2013

Martin Short is the definition of this.

Sigourney Weaver, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rachel Weisz.

David Caruso

Well, R5, maybe these last years Maggie Smith has played essentially the same role, but it is not the case for her whole career.

by Anonymousreply 1503/09/2013

Jean Brodie is not Charlotte Bartlett is not Constance Trentham.

Blake Edwards owns this thread.

Tom Cruise, the callow, good looking young man who becomes sensitive by the end of the movie? (And not so good looking or young by the end of the career.)

Bette Davis had two or three great performances in her -- and she delivered each of them in quite a few films.

Ron Jeremy.

And Rin Tin Tin was over rated.

Jimmy Stewart was essentially the same in every role. For that matter, so was Audrey Hepburn. And Cantinflas.

by Anonymousreply 1803/09/2013

Is this a trap?

Because it would be 12.6 million times easier to list the ones who have shown significant variation.

by Anonymousreply 1903/09/2013

Barbra Streisand - always the ugly duckling who gets the handsome goy.

by Anonymousreply 2403/09/2013

Jennifer Anniston

And HE has the absolute temerity to call Lady Gaga out on looking transgendered!

Irony can be a REEEAAAL bitch.

"Is this a trap?"

It's a trap!

by Anonymousreply 2903/09/2013

Don't forget me! I'm Scottish and Canadian!

by Anonymousreply 3003/09/2013

You want me to another movie about bored, rich white girls, don't you?

by Anonymousreply 3103/09/2013

Can we agree that Danny DeVito goes to the front of this line?

by Anonymousreply 3203/09/2013

Wow. I have not heard or seen the name Cantinflas in at least a dozen years.

BTW, was he gay? I heard that somewhere but might have mixed him up with someone else. (Like Topo Gigio, who LOVED getting fisted).

by Anonymousreply 3303/09/2013

R5 is an idiot. That Marigold movie and "A Private Function" both showed her capacity for playing other types. And doing it brilliantly;

My suggestions?

Julia "No Range" Roberts

Denzel "Humorless Phony" Washington

Forest "I'm Special" Whitaker

Barry "Isn't It All Sparkly Under the Garbage" Levinson

The attempts at humor in this thead fall as flat as a pancake. Pancake, get it? I love this town and you are beautiful, beautiful people!
