Name the kitten

My friend just adopted a new kitten - orange female cat. He isn't sure what to name the kitty.

Suggestions?

by Anonymousreply 20607/19/2014

The kitten deserves a better name than any of those.

by Anonymousreply 103/06/2013

Kitty Carlisle!!

by Anonymousreply 203/06/2013

Klonpin or Xanax.

by Anonymousreply 303/06/2013

Those names really suck, OP.

Come up with some more for us to choose from.

by Anonymousreply 403/06/2013

I was kind of joking on those names. Though I do like Christina Christopher Dammit!

by Anonymousreply 603/06/2013

r2 is correct.

I have a female orange tabby and her name is Ginger. The name isn't anything special, but it's better than anything on your list.

I've always liked the name "Stoppy" for a cat.

Derives from "Stop that!"

Growing up, we had a great aunt who always had a cat around her house that she dubbed, "Stoppy". The name was given to various cats through the years.

Suggested by my bf at the time. He was a goof, but then, so was the cat.

If this kitten is ever going to know its name, the name should have a strong vowel sound it it. Mimi, Sophie, Lulu -- if you really want to communicate on any level with the animal. If, on the other hand, you want your friends to think you're witty, cool, clever, etc., name it something like the previous posts.

There was a 50s movie on TCM a few months about an orange cat that owned a baseball team. The cat and movie was called "Rhubarb". I thought it was a cute name.

I've noticed a lot of cats used in movies and T.V. are orange...I suppose the color makes them stand out more.

Jones in Alien. Morris. Fluffy in The Brady Bunch. "Cat" in Breakfast at Tiffany's (who also starred in Rhubarb) Thomasina in The 3 Lives of Thomasina Spot in Star Trek TNG

I am happy to announce the kitty has a name!

My friend's seventy something aunt came to visit and he told her kitty did not have a name.

She was trying a few and called out Rufus Rumplefur. And the kitty answered....and purred. So Rufus it is. (Yes, it's a boy's name for a girl cat, but that's OK.)

Thanks everyone for participating!!

by Anonymousreply 16603/09/2013

Oh hell to the no, OP!

I DEMAND you call that cat "Chat a l'Orange."

Should have gone with Miss Sissy Boodles. I've been tempted to get a cat just so I could use that name.

With all due respect to your friend's aunt, OP, you might as well have named the poor little girl Douglas.
