What happened to me?
Billy Crudup here
|by Anonymous||reply 38||11/14/2013|
he was sexy and cute in "Almost Famous" Very much looked like a "guitar god" from the 70s.
Didn't he do something lousy to someone he was dating? Claire Danes? left her pregnant?
|by Anonymous||reply 1||03/06/2013|
He abandoned Mary Louise Parker when she was pregnant with their child to be with Claire Danes, who eventually dumped him to be with Hugh Dancy.
Billy Crudup continues to earn his priceless Master Card fortune.

Oh Billy --
You could be anyone.
There is absolutely nothing distinct about you.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||03/06/2013|
I remember a long time ago when Billy and Claire first got together and someone, I think it was the Daily Show with Kilborn, said something about it. Of course nobody knew (or still knows) who Crudup was. His story was something like, "In news Claire Danes and Billy Crudup are getting engaged..you may know Claire Danes from My so-called Life and you may know Billy Crudup from me just saying his name a minute ago." It was funny because I didn't know him and I guess no one else did either.

He was one of those extremely handsome stage actors who told everyone he was willfully avoiding Hollywood blockbusters and only doing indies so as not to sell out, and then did exactly that. but the problem was that he got to be a certain age when he was no longer the hot young prettyboy, and so he stopped getting cast as leads in the indies. He would have been much better off doing a mix of blockbusters and indies (like Matthew McBongo has done)--he'd still be getting good roles now in the indies if he had.

I've heard he's a real asshole, very difficult to work with.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||03/06/2013|
R5 Unfortunately for him the big studio pictures he chose were The Watchmen and The Watch.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||03/06/2013|
I think he's a great actor and was excellent in Waking the Dead.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||03/06/2013|
We share the same b-day!
Anyways I always thought that Billy Crudup and Vincent Gallo were the same person
|by Anonymous||reply 9||03/06/2013|
I stood next to him once outside a Broadway show. Cute, but shorter than I thought. I'm 5'10 ish and he was shorter than me.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||03/07/2013|
You are dating my daughter Grace....and no, you can't have any money or touch the Oscars.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||03/07/2013|
Sorry -- Who are you again?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||03/07/2013|
Also, that whole MLP thing, although she seemed a bit clingy and the baby might have been the result of that.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||03/07/2013|
He was excellent in "Jesus' Son" too. He might be a victim of hype, but there are definitely lesser actors out there.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||03/07/2013|
What happened with the kid he had with MLP? Does he have a relationship with it?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||03/07/2013|
You make million$ voicing commercials. Boo Hoo.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||03/07/2013|
He's 2 feet tall.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||03/07/2013|
Well I liked him in The Pillowman.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||03/07/2013|
Anyone who's ever had the displeasure of being in a room with MLP for more than five minutes would immediately side with Crudup. She's insufferably crazy when she's not downright cruel.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||03/07/2013|
tell us more r19...was she cruel to you?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||03/08/2013|
He was fantastic in Stage Beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||03/08/2013|
He is tiny. I so him on the street once and almost felt compelled to say "little boy where is your mommy?"
|by Anonymous||reply 22||03/08/2013|
R19 = Timothy Hutton

Crudup still gets plenty of stage work and is doing just fine. He was fantastic in the Arcadia revival and really deserved that nomination. When he did they bit about being on "breakfast television" it was hysterical.
Even though The Metal Children wasn't the best play in the world, he was great in it.
And duh, The Pillowman.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||03/08/2013|
Is it true he's a grumpy little man who treats everyone around him like garbage?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/13/2013|
He was hot when he was younger- see the movie "Grind" (1997)- his costar was Adrienne Shelley. He really lost his looks when he got older and he is also one of those guys that looks better thin than average weight.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/13/2013|
Your giant cock got you into trouble, Billy.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/13/2013|
He looked like shit in The Watch. He IS rumored to be a major asshole. Likes to make fun of his fans. I think the character he played in Stage Beauty was pretty close to the real thing. I can see why he and Philip Seymour Hoffman get along so well. Two peas in a pod. Although, Crudup is much phonier with his contempt for the little people. Hoffman has been known to curse out anyone who even deems to say hello to him when he's out and about in New York. And don't even think about looking at him while he scarfs down those Five Guys burgers. He skulks off like a dog protecting a bone.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||11/13/2013|
Yes, r28. He's an Aubrey Beardsley drawing come to life.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||11/13/2013|
Isn't he a little old to be Billy? People called James Stewart Jimmy, but he was always billed as James Stewart
|by Anonymous||reply 31||11/13/2013|
you are on broadway!!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||11/13/2013|
MLP may be a raging cunt but with his girlfriend at seven months along he could have done the decent thing and waited for the sprog to arrive before heading out the door.
Just a thought.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||11/13/2013|
I always get him mixed up with Jared Leto.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||11/13/2013|
[quote]I always get him mixed up with Jared Leto.
Tell me about it.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||11/14/2013|
Mary Louise Parker is a horrible person. Crudup was hateful to her, but she got her just deserts for the way she treats others.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||11/14/2013|
He sure has been in a lot of films, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||11/14/2013|
he's pretty great on stage
