Do you think straights are tired of hearing about the gays?

Or are they titillated by this fascinating new topic coming at them?

The media has seized upon us as one of the last provocative, hot button issues. Everyday it's 'gay athletes', 'gay marriage', 'gay adoption'. I have to admit, I'm a little saturated on the issue myself (though I'm old enough to find it amusing, because when I was growing up it was a taboo subject everywhere... that is, until AIDS).

by Anonymousreply 14905/12/2015

If the federal civil rights laws were extended to the gay community there would be no need for further discussion.

by Anonymousreply 103/04/2013

Yes they're tired, and after they give us our rights, we'll be happy to shut up.

by Anonymousreply 203/04/2013

Maybe but I'm sure whites were tired of hearing about the Negroes during their civil rights movement.

by Anonymousreply 303/04/2013

When I used to visit America (80s & 90s) I was amazed how much they talk about us in the media.

I remember having to sit through something on TV called 'If Your Kid Is Gay' with my mother and step father.

I don't think America is going to lose its 'gay' obsession/preoccupation any time soon.

by Anonymousreply 403/04/2013

R1 R2 are you kidding!? Do you live in a cave? We will never shut up. And yes, I believe they are, but since the "viral" trends in our direction presently, they're stuck with us. It Won't Last, you can be sure of that.

by Anonymousreply 503/04/2013

[quote] Do you think straights are tired of hearing about the gays?

Yes, especially homophobes.

by Anonymousreply 603/04/2013

I think a lot of gay talk makes even open-minded straight people queasy.

by Anonymousreply 703/04/2013

R2 Bingo!

by Anonymousreply 803/04/2013

I dunno if your perception is right on. Maybe you are all focused on the gays but the straights aren't.

I'm a flexible woman and I will admit that I come to datalounge to get my fix of gay when I find there isn't enough in the mainstream. Trust me when you aren't in it, your world is not saturated with the gays.

by Anonymousreply 903/04/2013

Yes. I support their rights, and I believe they should be treated as equals.I do believe you deserve the same rights as myself, and your family deserves the same rights as myself.

I do not believe being gay is a choice, nor an 'act of sin' as many of my fellow christians deem it, believeing it is a sexual past time.

But I am tired of the whining, and I am tired of the attitude now that if you are gay you deserve a medal. I am straight and further the human race. I do not get a parade that blocks most of the streets in NYC and crams the subways. So I do not see why you should get a parade because you like to wear clothing not normally assigned to your gender, or love someone of the same sex.

I do care about equal treatment. But I don't care about what you do in your free time, or hell even your sexuality.

by Anonymousreply 1003/19/2013

You mean like you, r3? I love how people like you always act like all other prejudice is in the past.

by Anonymousreply 1103/19/2013

I'm sick of hearing about straight people.

by Anonymousreply 1203/19/2013

I'm straight and I'm not tired of it. Freedom from oppression and shame for any group of people that experiences unjust discrimination is to the benefit of everyone. I'm kind of being a bit wordy there, but I hope I'm understandable.

by Anonymousreply 1303/19/2013

Those who don't believe in equal rights probably are tired of it. The rest of us aren't.

by Anonymousreply 1403/19/2013

"I am straight and further the human race".

Amazing. I'm not sure which is more impressive, the incredible sacrifice you are making or the exemplary job you are doing. Either way, carry on deluded, narcissistic breeder piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 1503/19/2013

Neither. Most are indifferent and that's the REAL reason gay rights are still not fully realized. People are not willing to vote against the things that are important to them personally in order to support gay rights. They may not be homophobic and they may strongly support the right for gays to marry, etc.......but they just don't care enough to sacrifice something they want for themselves to achieve it. They will vote for the candidates who best represent THEIR interests.

It's human nature and you all do the exact same thing.

by Anonymousreply 1603/19/2013

I am gay and I have a biological daughter. GIVE me that damn medal now

by Anonymousreply 1703/19/2013

Maybe ten years ago as part of their Diversity program, The New York Times agreed to publish a certain number of pro-gay stories each week. A straight friend noticed and said "isn't this overkill?"

by Anonymousreply 1803/19/2013

I'm gay and I'm tired of hearing about the gays.

by Anonymousreply 2012/03/2013

Instead of trying to teach others that homosexuals should stay out of sight, r19, perhaps you should teach yourself some spelling & grammar. Rediculouse indeed!

by Anonymousreply 2112/03/2013

I would love to know how the frau at R10 ended up on DL. Google? WTF?

by Anonymousreply 2212/04/2013

Who cares

by Anonymousreply 2312/04/2013

Oh for fuck's sake, I just noticed this thread is months old and R19 posted her dipshit opinion to revive it. Christ, between the fraus and the fundies DL is on a downturn.

by Anonymousreply 2412/04/2013

I have many good friends who are gay. I’m tired of the overwhelming amount of media and celeb use (and abuse) of gay issues/topics - Not because I don’t support the right for everyone to be equals. Because it seems lately that media and celebs are using gay issues/topics as their new “cherry” to sell their own products – higher ratings, more cds, more dvds. There are media/celebs that truly support and believe in the issues. I applaud them. But everyone jumping on a bandwagon sometimes cheapens the importance of the cause and the message. It’s over exposure. Just like when you see too much of a celeb – EVERYWHER – you get sick of it and tune out – hence the real message is lost and the audience to receive it is lost. Just my 2 cents.

by Anonymousreply 2512/04/2013

Straights are tired of it because they still think of gays as a small minority. The truth is gays are at least a quarter of twenty-somethings these days, albeit a smaller portion of the higher ages, and they will have to get used to it because they gays aren't going away. Someday we will be the majority!

by Anonymousreply 2612/04/2013

Look at the comments posts or message boards on almost any gay story and every other comment is 'enough with the gay stories', 'shut up about announcing your gay', 'why do you have to talk about your bf? 'why is this gay stuff being shoved down our throats, and on, and on. If you're straight, it must seems like overkill, but listen, when str8 people talk about their lives, girlfriends, marriages, sex lives, who they are dating no one says 'there go the str8s shoving their heterosexuality down our throats again!' Movies, TV, ads, etc are all stories about wives, husbands, families, relationships which are 95% always str8, no blinks an eye or claims that 'straights' are always shoving that down your throat. But that's EXACTLY the same thing, yet no one ever sees it that way. It's just shows the continued homophobia that so many straight people don't see how much of it is a total double standard.

by Anonymousreply 2712/04/2013

I don't think they're tired of hearing about us. I think they're amazing. Who in the world could have imagined that the Love that dare not speak its name" would be not only speaking but getting married in only one generation. Amazing.

The reason? The coming out process that started in the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 2812/04/2013

"The truth is gays are at least a quarter of twenty-somethings these days."

r26, that's one of the more ridiculous statements I've ever read here.

by Anonymousreply 2912/04/2013

[quote] But I am tired of the whining, and I am tired of the attitude now that if you are gay you deserve a medal. I am straight and further the human race. I do not get a parade that blocks most of the streets in NYC and crams the subways. So I do not see why you should get a parade because you like to wear clothing not normally assigned to your gender, or love someone of the same sex.

I love this attitude.

Give us a list of events where it is OK to have a parade that blocks the streets in NYC and crams the subways.

Is New Year's Eve OK?

How about The Thanksgiving Day Parade?

I live in a college town - not as glamorous as NYC - but home football games block the streets. I'm not a fan. Is that OK?

I didn't know I was due for a medal. I know there are some gay men who cross dress but I'm not one of them. (Truth be told more straight men cross dress than gay men). I hope I don't have to go out a buy a dress to receive my medal.

I put in a link to the definition of whine. I suggest you read the definition and then read your comment. Then ask yourself who is really the whiner.

by Anonymousreply 3012/04/2013

They do at work. I heard them complaining about a gay co-worker of mine for years. "He just HAS to bring attention to his personal life! I don't want to hear about it." Most of them don't mind having gay co-workers as long as the gays try to act straight and don't ever talk about it in front of them. The vast majority of gays there don't, so it's a non-sequitur.

by Anonymousreply 3112/04/2013

Would love to hear what they say about us around their heterosexual dinner tables.

by Anonymousreply 3212/04/2013

This is one of the most ridiculous questions I've read. We SHOULD hear as much about gays as we hear about straights, that's what's equality is all about. We should also hear a lot more about bisexuals since they are the actual majority of people.

by Anonymousreply 3312/04/2013

Gays, and bigotry against gays, disgust me.

They are like nuclear power plants: I know they have to exist, but don't tell me where.

by Anonymousreply 3412/04/2013

LOL you are on the gay site R34, not sure if you're aware of this fact.

by Anonymousreply 3512/04/2013

Yes, if it's the gay OP with all these Palin/fox evil empire bullshit, then yes.

by Anonymousreply 3612/04/2013

I'm sick of ignorant assholes who imagine themselves smart enough to know what "natural" is spewing shit on anonymous message boards.

Have the courage of your convictions, r37, and stand outside your local bear/leather bar or gay motorcycle club and talk such nonsense.

Oh, but you're just a loser fucking coward aren't you.

by Anonymousreply 3812/21/2013

Visibility, talking, media coverage can only get straight people to think about the inequality. This then makes being gay not such a foreign concept. Being in the closet is detrimental to our rights. I have seen a very positive impact with all of the attention in the past few years. Uneducated and isolated people may always harbor hatred and fear. One step at a time.

by Anonymousreply 4012/21/2013

R40 is absolutely right. Public visibility and discussion isn't harming anyone beyond those who are bigoted and afraid. If some people are lashing out, it means they are listening.

by Anonymousreply 4112/21/2013

So straights are tired of hearing about gay situations/relationships/problems? OK, let's go back several thousand years, and start treating gays equally. We wouldn't have 90% of the "problems" we do today, IF we had been treated equally through the millennia. You can't have it both ways. You shit on us for centuries, so just shut up and listen, or not, 'til the playing field gets leveled.

by Anonymousreply 4212/21/2013

[quote]Do you think straights are tired of hearing about the gays?

Who gives a damn if they are? I'm tired of hearing straight people talk about their boring suburban family life.

by Anonymousreply 4312/21/2013

Stop acting like little girls...Gay people think they are some kind of race and they are being discriminated and straight people are just spewing out hatred. Get a life. Stop choosing to stick your dicks in each other's assess. You make the choice. There is no way you deserve equality with your perverse sexual lifestyle. Oh and I guarantee I am way more educated than your sick ass. Educated people know that the gay lifestyle is perverse.

by Anonymousreply 4412/21/2013

Die in a fire R44

by Anonymousreply 4512/21/2013

Hey 45..how about you cut your dick off since you can't control it you sick pig ;)

by Anonymousreply 4612/21/2013

[quote] Educated people know that the gay lifestyle is perverse.

Educated people know the difference between asses and assess.

by Anonymousreply 4712/21/2013

47 all you know is dick. Sicko

by Anonymousreply 4812/21/2013

Yes, just go read yahoo comments or others and you will see that they are tired of it.

by Anonymousreply 4912/21/2013

Who cares?

by Anonymousreply 5012/21/2013

We SHOULD hear as much about gays as we hear about straights, that's what's equality is all about. We should also hear a lot more about bisexuals since they are the actual majority of people.

by Anonymousreply 5112/21/2013

[quote]Or are they titillated by this fascinating new topic coming at them?

Certainly not titillated.

by Anonymousreply 5212/21/2013

This is obviously a gay-lez hangout spot.A queer would liken the civil rights movement to 'Negroes'. Maybe straight fold should hold annual 'celebrate heterosexual' parades. The fck outta here!

by Anonymousreply 5312/22/2013

I'm fucking tired about hearing about straight people. The heterosexual lifestyle has been and continues to be propagandized in the media.

by Anonymousreply 5412/22/2013

Christ, if I were straight, I'd be bored to death by it all...and probably a big asshole.

by Anonymousreply 5512/22/2013

I'm gay and I find a lot of coverage of gay issues to be sooo condescending. I'm especially over ad nauseum coverage of federal judges striking down bans on gay marriage (an issue that impacts a small, but generally well-to-do constituency).

by Anonymousreply 5612/22/2013

I'm with r2. And I don't care whether they are or not.

by Anonymousreply 5712/22/2013

A closed mouth doesn't get fed, as they say.

by Anonymousreply 5812/22/2013

I'm sick of the ongoing dialog by the bigoted, 'religious' assholes. Those assholes pick and choose versions and verses of their silly book of tall tales to warp and bend words to tailor their venom for hatred of other human beings.

by Anonymousreply 5912/22/2013

Not as tired as I am of hearing about Duck Dynasty.

by Anonymousreply 6012/22/2013

[quote] Who in their right mind would want to do the unnatural things they do.

Uh...straight people?

There's virtually no sex act performed by gay men and lesbians that straights don't do as well. Ultimately, there are a limited number of ways for people's bodies to interact sexually. So straights are all up in that 'unnatural' stuff too.

by Anonymousreply 6112/22/2013

To compare civil rights and gay marriage rights is unfair, it's a no brainer gays should be able to marry, but having no vote at all is all together different. Both are injustice but one didn't have representation..

by Anonymousreply 6201/02/2014

R61 - speak for yourself. My partner and I regularly perform the Mexican Panda. I have yet to meet a straight person that even knows what it is.

by Anonymousreply 6301/02/2014

Only stupid straight people, and closet cases are tired of hearing about gay issues.

by Anonymousreply 6401/02/2014

who the fuck cares?

once my gayness becomes a non-issue, and i have the same right and privileges as every other citizen, then maybe i'll care.

by Anonymousreply 6501/02/2014

Yes especially when watching obnoxious stereotypical betrayals like those on Modern Family and hearing about fisting parties. But in a year or so it will become ho hum and the public will get tired of something else.

by Anonymousreply 6601/02/2014

I'm straight and I'm tired of bigotry and injustice.

by Anonymousreply 6701/02/2014

HGTV seeks out gay couples for every program.

by Anonymousreply 6801/02/2014

They are just using the homos to sell and promote their product plan and simple. Media can give two fucks about faggots and dykes. Media industry is smart and clever to capture retards and manipulate them for sales. If you don’t see it, you need to take a business and sociology class to figure it out. It is clear that that American public is too stupid and they like to be told what to like. It’s not hate, bigotry to think like that.. These people have rights and they can legally marry in other states. enough of this shit. Go and choke on a dick and be happy.

by Anonymousreply 6901/27/2014

[quote] it's a no brainer gays should be able to marry, but having no vote

Withholding someone's right to marry is far more serious and profound than withholding someone's right to vote imho. I can only speak for myself but, if forced to choose, I'd give up my right to vote long before I'd give up my right to marry. I think most people would agree: in fact, most straight people probably can't even imagine what it would be like to be denied the right to marry or that their marriage would not be recognized as legitimate. And most people are pretty much 'take it or leave it' when it comes to voting, especially nowadays: in fact, most people are of the 'leave it' school. So it's a tough argument to make that denying the right to vote is some major denial of humanity which makes the denial of marriage rights pale in comparison. I think voting seems like a pretty minor right compared to marriage.

by Anonymousreply 7001/27/2014

You are an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 7101/27/2014

I agree R70. There are people who support gay marriage who are not even registered to vote.

by Anonymousreply 7201/27/2014

[quote] Everyday it's 'gay athletes', 'gay marriage', 'gay adoption'. I have to admit, I'm a little saturated on the issue myself

Take gay out of it, and call it what it is - equal rights.

And fuck straight people if they are tired of hearing this. They aren't tired of having equal rights themselves

by Anonymousreply 7301/27/2014

Wish this topic would just end. Im all for equal rights, but if we diverted this attention somewhere else that actually has any meaning to general populations whatsoever, and without favoring any specific choice of gender, we probably could make a better difference in this world. Life will go on regardless of who says differently. People complain about such petty issues these days and the media has an immediate explosion of data feeds that only fuel the fires they create. What would happen if that feed was replaced with information that was relevent to 100% of the population instead of some groups of people that feel like their outcasts?

by Anonymousreply 7403/05/2014

The irony is that it was Kkkarl Rove who used gay marriage in 2004 to get W re-inserted Into the White House, and is probably more responsible for the wave of gay marriage and gay rights overall than anyone or any group otherwise. So, take your complaints up with him and his puppet-masters, the Koch-suckers.

by Anonymousreply 7503/05/2014

Maybe gays are tired of hearing about the straights. But one thing is for sure, both gays and straights are tired of hearing about the bi's.

by Anonymousreply 7603/05/2014

I do, and I think there's going to be a backlash that negatively affects us in some way.

by Anonymousreply 7703/05/2014

I AM TOTALLY SICK OF HEARING ABOUT GAY PEOPLE! I AM SICK OF FLAMBOYANT GAY MEN! I AM SICK OF BULLDYKE WOMEN WITH THEIR BASKETBALL SHORTS and PANTS HANGING OFF THIER ASSES WITH THEIR HOXERS HANGING OUT (YES WOMEN DO THIS TOO). JUST BE WHO YOU ARE AND STOP MAKING A SPECTACLE OF YOURSELF ALREADY! I DON'T PARADE AROUND SCREAMING I'M STRAIGHT, SO SHUT UP ALREADY!

by Anonymousreply 7803/14/2014

why do people compare gay rights to negroes civil, rights that is racists. I have nothing against gay people but come on people, stop the comparison, they have gone through slavery which gays have not, it is sad that everybody that is fighting for their rights must make reference to black civil rights. It is even a black president that legalized gay marriage.

by Anonymousreply 7903/16/2014

why are you on a gay website r79?

by Anonymousreply 8003/16/2014

R51 is a filthy bislut.

by Anonymousreply 8103/16/2014

Further the human race? Overpopulation will be the end of everything we know.

by Anonymousreply 8203/16/2014

Yes, people are sick and tired of a bunch of whiny, self-important, selfish and annoying people complaining about the fact they cannot marry their boyfriend of the week. There are real problems out there.

by Anonymousreply 8304/16/2014

OP, we are being exploited to death by the media and those "pro-gay" public figures!!!!

by Anonymousreply 8404/16/2014

Yes, I am getting sick of hearing about it all the time and I am a supporter of gay rights. What about rights for EVERY marginalized and maligned group that aren't as "glamorous" as the gay topic. I stop at "gay adoption", however. No one is entitled to the flesh and blood of a vulnerable, easily coerced young woman. Adopt an orphan who truly has no mother or family.

by Anonymousreply 8506/21/2014

It is not that I am tired of hearing about it at all, but I am tired of the posture of some rabid activists, who seem to insist that all view gay rights as the apex issue. Gay rights is not my religion nor my highest value. Nor do I think it is more important than a host of other issues such as poverty, crime, health care, education, or the budget. Moreover, I value and respect people's religious beliefs and want to accommodate them when reasonable. I am tired of the attitude of the extreme gay activists, not the issue itself. Everything in its proper place.

by Anonymousreply 8606/21/2014

[quote]Yes, I am getting sick of hearing about it all the time and I am a supporter of gay rights.

Why the fuck are people who are sick of hearing about the gays hanging out on a gay website?

by Anonymousreply 8706/21/2014

Stephanie at R85, go fuck yourself. That you see the coercion of a young woman as something to do with strictly 'gay adoption' (as opposed to heterosexuals who can't conceive looking to adopt a newborn) shows deep down that you are a bigoted cuntstain.

And THAT is why I hate straight people posting on the DL.

by Anonymousreply 8806/21/2014

[quote] Gay rights is not my religion nor my highest value. Nor do I think it is more important than a host of other issues such as poverty, crime, health care, education, or the budget. Moreover, I value and respect people's religious beliefs and want to accommodate them when reasonable

More than one thing can be accomplished at the same time. And with anti-gay bigotry, a gay person who is also experiencing effects of poverty or ill health can be hit harder by discriminatory laws.

And when are religious beliefs reasonable exactly? You're so timid it makes me sick.

by Anonymousreply 8906/21/2014

Tired of Harvey Fierstein and Larry Kramer and every other celebrity who's life revolves about everything gay. And the awful portrayals of us on shows like Modern Family- how repulsive is that gay couple? Oh- And that fag on the red carpets, Ross, who for some reason is all over the place.

by Anonymousreply 9006/21/2014

Yes, I know they are. Just think about we live in a world of victims. Gay and lesbians love to portray themselves as victims and the media helps with this because its so easy to produce.

Victims are the 60,000 people dying of starvation every DAY - but that's not pretty news like a kid crying because some one called him a fag or dad wouldn't accept him.

Do you realize that it is not acceptable to discuss homosexual sex acts in a negative light. For instance kids today are completely in the dark when it comes to anal sex and typical gross outcomes of shoving anything up an anal cavity - people doctors will insert a finger and rotate it to relieve constipation - just think about it or how continuous female oral sex increases throat cancer by 40%. Please google these items for yourself.

by Anonymousreply 9109/25/2014

I'm tired of hearing about straights!

by Anonymousreply 9209/25/2014

R91=brainless bigot with no anatomical knowledge. Anal sex, mainly practiced by straights BTW, does not pose great health risks. Indeed, it was a straight troll who started all the prolapse threads here because no gay people had ever even heard of it.

by Anonymousreply 9309/26/2014

As long as we continue to allow the shrinking, ignorant, yet noisy Christo-fundies to set our national agenda, it will keep gay stories on the front page. It seems they are obsessed with us!

by Anonymousreply 9409/26/2014

The ones who suck my cock can't seem to get enough of the gay, OP. Oh, and my cock.

by Anonymousreply 9509/26/2014

fg

by Anonymousreply 9609/30/2014

reply 93t Are you that stupid, anal sex is not dangerous. This is problem I have with how society have steered away from discussing the truth about certain sexual activities and worst of all the kids are never knowing the truth until they try it mislead by the controlled media.

Source: www.webmd.com/sex/anal-sex-health-concerns Read it!!

Source: Howard Stern countless interviews with porn stars. The process involves enemas the day before and rectal hosting the day of shooting...or else.

Oh yes it is a beautiful thing to have ones penis covered in your partners crap..very romantic.

by Anonymousreply 9709/30/2014

As a straight active in gay rights in my state, I am only tired of gays on DL acting as if all straight people suck.

by Anonymousreply 9809/30/2014

IM sick of hearing about straights can I get a vacation from that?

I actually don't think straights here that much about gay issues because many don't pay attention as much as we do. Your average straight person doesn't read gay media or is up to date on the latest coming out or gay bashing.

by Anonymousreply 9909/30/2014

I'm sure people were sick of hearing of abolition, civil rights, women's rights..who cares? It's not about games or fun, hot topics. This is real life. Marriage, adoption, representation..these are serious issues that need addressed. I'm sure freedom of speech is old hat, that doesn't make it not relevant.

I'm speaking to the general sentiment, not you, OP.

by Anonymousreply 10009/30/2014

P.S. my friend made a similar comment about the 70s, coming off the intense 50s and 60s, as if Black people and women were just stirring up trouble for the sake of it. She termed us, "mal-contents". How fun it must be to sit up reaping the rewards behind the actions of those mal-contents, being free to do what you want, work where you want, say what you want..criticizing them.

by Anonymousreply 10109/30/2014

1989. I had a friend at work at a generally anti-gay company. Anyway, she had gotten married in a Mormon temple but decided to throw a reception for gentile friends and "significant others" to cull more presents. So I said I was bringing my friend Sam. She said, "Sam as in Samantha?" And I said, "no, Sam as in Samuel, but it isn't Samuel, it's Sam." Pause. "Well you said, significant others." So I brought him. He insisted on bringing a bottle of champagne as their wedding gift too. I said that wasn't a very smart gift for a Mormon party but he said, obviously they have gentile friends and this way they don't have to pay for their friends' corruption. So we showed up at their Mormon wedding reception, two gay guys and a bottle of champagne. My bf ended up getting drunk and smoking up a storm, too, and his bitchy side started to come out. The Mormons were ANGRY, ANGRY, ANGRY - several of them pointedly refused to shake our hands - but the other gentiles thought it was the funniest thing they ever saw. Personally I always welcome a chance to bore and irritate straight people with my gay fabulousness. They are so deserving.

by Anonymousreply 10209/30/2014

I certainly am tired of hearing about the gay agenda. Yahoo is unbearable these days. You cannot call it equal to traditional marriage, because it is not equal, so equal rights cannot be afforded. Set aside the religious viewpoint and look at science. Tell me how any gay couple can "naturally" procreate offspring without the assistance of modern medicine? Scientists will never find a "gay" gene so stop telling us you are born that way. Scientifically, the gay lifestyle has always been influenced by environmental factors, in other words "choice." All you evolutionists should rethink your position on gay marriage as well because a fundamental concept of evolution, according to Darwin, was the natural procreation of a race. To promote the opposite would be the extinction of a race. In conclusion, there is no scientific evidence that the gay lifestyle is "natural." It is the furthest thing from "natural."

by Anonymousreply 10310/08/2014

You are an idiot, r103. I'm gay and my son will turn 6 next month. His mother is a lesbian and we used no IVF. Same sex attracted people also make sense in evolutionary terms because hunter-gatherers generally live in extended family groups, and more able-bodied adults increases the chances for children to survive and genes to be passed on. Maybe you should learn about some of these things like science before making yourself look like a fool trying to talk about them.

by Anonymousreply 10410/08/2014

[quote]As long as we continue to allow the shrinking, ignorant, yet noisy Christo-fundies to set our national agenda, it will keep gay stories on the front page. It seems they are obsessed with us!

For nearly ten years, Rick Santorum has been focusing on gays in 90% of his speeches.

by Anonymousreply 10510/08/2014

I agree with Post 103. Sorry it is not normal from a society perspective or nature. I am always surprised by the Lesbians who partner with "butchy/ugly male looking" women - whats up with that?

In a perfect world dominant females would be paired up with "soft" males - from an physical perspective it would be much better for both.

I fully expect when the media play out the "victim" card which appeals to so many "Woo is me I am confused and gay and my parents disapprove" media will return to promoting normal activities.

I look forward to a world where everyone is treated equal including gay people and the world attention returns back to real victims not a crying teenager who was called a homophobic name.

by Anonymousreply 10610/11/2014

I don't know if straights are tired of hearing about gays, but gays are sure tired of hearing about straights.

by Anonymousreply 10710/11/2014

I think people just want gay people to fit in without making a big deal about their differences or changing society's core values or institutions. I think they want gay people to adhere to expected norms like monogamy, fidelity, and gender norms with respect to masculinity or femininity. They dislike flamboyance or radicalism. They want gay rights to coexist peacefully with religion and tradition, not wage war on those values.

by Anonymousreply 10810/11/2014

Probably, God knows I am!

by Anonymousreply 10910/11/2014

I can't imagine anyone ever being tired of hearing about me?

by Anonymousreply 11010/11/2014

YUPPER......

by Anonymousreply 11110/11/2014

reply 108t

You are so right! Live your lives in harmony.

Look at the flamboyant Gay pride marches - they dress up like clowns an act so bizarre but God help ya if you laugh or make fun a man dressed like a peacock with his hand clutching another mans bare ass walking in the middle of the street.

by Anonymousreply 11210/12/2014

R108, perhaps you mean some people, I certainly don't think that way nor do I think its my place to define/uphold/pass judgment on a "societal norm".

by Anonymousreply 11310/14/2014

Anyone think giving rights will end this you can forget it as long as some attorney thinks there is a nickel to gain or some government handout it will never end. Want the example civil rights 50 years later its still here. When it gets over 50 percent non white it will still be here. Same with gays professional whiners professional ambulance chasers. Want to end it secession is the only way let them have this new rat hole country they created. I give them 5-20 years and they'll be broke from their social utopia.

by Anonymousreply 11401/18/2015

Very tired of hearing about us yes. I can't wait for the day when we're just taken for granted like other normal people.

by Anonymousreply 11501/18/2015

No. We're the people they love to hate.

by Anonymousreply 11601/18/2015

I'm gay and sick of hearing about the straights.

by Anonymousreply 11701/18/2015

[quote]I certainly am tired of hearing about the gay agenda.

Oh look, homophobes @ R103, R106, R108 and R112. You think anyone here gives a shit about your hateful thoughts?

by Anonymousreply 11801/18/2015

Oh dear, yes! Especially during closing time in America's sports bars when the following cry is oft heard, "Shut up and suck my cock, brah."

by Anonymousreply 11901/18/2015

Where the fuck did all the homophobic assholes come from? Was this linked at freeperville?

Sad and pathetic people want to deny equal rights to other human beings.

by Anonymousreply 12001/18/2015

YES,YES they are tired of "the GAYS". I hear about "all the time"at work(work at a Hedge Fund Co.) I tell them all the time to go "Fuck themselves, I don't want to get married", I just wanna "fuck the Hot str8's ones" and send them back to their wives.

by Anonymousreply 12101/18/2015

I just saw Johnny Weir doing commentary on NBC. He looked like the freaking love child of Liberace and Liza Minelli. God, he shames all gays. He's the stereotypical image we worked so hard to shed. Even I don't want to hear about that one man freak show.

by Anonymousreply 12201/18/2015

YES WE ARE TIRED. I WAS RAISED TO TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT NO MATTER WHAT THEIR BELIEFS WERE, BUT HAVING THIS TOPIC SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT EVERY DAY IS PISSING ME OFF. I DON'T CARE WHO YOU SLEEP WITH. JUST CONCENTRATE ON TREATING EVERYONE WITH RESPECT NO MATTER WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE , WHO THEY WORSHIP OR WHO THEY SLEEP WITH. INFORMING ME OF YOUR SEXUAL PREFERENCE IS LIKE ME WALKING UP TO YOU AT A BUS STOP TO TELL YOU I DID MY WIFE DOGGIE STYLE LAST NIGHT. WHO CARES? ! DO I LOVE & CARE FOR MY FAMILY & FRIENDS? ? DO I VOLUNTEER IN MY COMMUNITY? DO I PAY MY BILLS? YES I DO.

by Anonymousreply 12304/01/2015

I'm glad to see they have Internet access at the mental intitution now...!

by Anonymousreply 12404/01/2015

straight men should thank god for gay men, because if we didnt exist, they'd never get laid--

by Anonymousreply 12504/01/2015

R123 is one of the reasons we have yet to shut up about it

by Anonymousreply 12604/01/2015

Need you ask? 😠

by Anonymousreply 12704/01/2015

Well, if it's anything like the fatigue I have hearing about all the unhinged, sisters-of-the-perpetually-offended trannie drama - I'd say yes.

by Anonymousreply 12804/01/2015

I have to say ENOUGH ALREADY! Eversince Obama became the president, everybody came out even the closeted, all the loud, liberal-minded and gay people came out in the open like there's no tomorrow. My republican dog can't take it no more.

by Anonymousreply 12904/01/2015

No R123, telling us you have a wife is sharing your sex life.

by Anonymousreply 13004/01/2015

Every time I turn on the news, it's buttfucker this and buttfucker that. Why dont we all just go fuck each others' butts, and then we can get on with our lives?

by Anonymousreply 13105/12/2015

Don't worry, it's all trans now, preferably "transgender children"

not that the masses can tell the difference..

by Anonymousreply 13205/12/2015

I think everybody is tired of hearing about everyone these days.

by Anonymousreply 13305/12/2015

I couldn't possibly give less of a fuck if they're tired or not.

by Anonymousreply 13405/12/2015

Probably, just as I'm tired of hearing about motherhood and religion and sports.

by Anonymousreply 13505/12/2015

They couldn't be more tired of us than we are of them. After all we've had their bullshit shoved in our faces from birth.

by Anonymousreply 13605/12/2015

They'd hear about us a lot less if they'd stop denying us equal rights, discriminating against us and bullying young gay people.

Those are the contexts under which gay people are discussed most often, so if those behaviors ended, problem solved.

by Anonymousreply 13705/12/2015

Straights want to hear about "the gays" almost as much as they want to hear about people who are into S&M.

Which is they don't.

by Anonymousreply 13805/12/2015

Don't know about straights, but I'm tired of hearing about "the gays."

Focus on somebody non-LGBT for a while.

And I hate that the "T" is conflated with gay.

by Anonymousreply 13905/12/2015

But your despicable class is dead! Look who they are calling for now!

by Anonymousreply 14005/12/2015

Yes. The novelty wore off long ago.

by Anonymousreply 14105/12/2015

Webmaster delete this homophobic thread please.

by Anonymousreply 14205/12/2015

Waaaah! Somebody posted something I disagree with!

by Anonymousreply 14305/12/2015

I agree with R142. The only purpose for this thread is to bash gay people. It doesn't belong here, as should be clearly obvious to anyone with a brain.

by Anonymousreply 14405/12/2015

R143 = the Chris Christie apologist, which is totally not surprising.

by Anonymousreply 14505/12/2015

Well, are they packing up all the gays and shipping them somewhere else? Then they'll keep hearing about gays.

by Anonymousreply 14605/12/2015

Homophobic threads rarely get deleted on DL anymore. But make it about tr*ns women, R142, and it won't last a day.

by Anonymousreply 14705/12/2015

I'm tired of hearing about straights. It's fucking everywhere.

Disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 14805/12/2015

Hmm, I think your average heterosexual guy does not think about homosexuality much.

As most of us must already know, the ones who tend to complain are generally the closeted ones who try to pass off as heterosexual and religious fundamentalists.
