The Future Of America One Judge At A Time, thank you President Obama
Supposedly, there are three equal branches to the United States government. In reality, they’re not all that equal. The judiciary wields enormous power to strike down laws that unconstitutional and, in the case of Bush v Gore and Citizens United, just make crap up to serve a blatantly obvious political agenda.
One of the reasons our country is such a mess right now is that the GOP has made a deliberate effort to stack the judiciary with as many right wing ideologues as possible. This is how we ended up with the most corrupt Supreme Court possibly in history. Scalia, alone, is so nakedly partisan that it beggars belief.

Do you really think partisan based appointments are unique to one party? Having one party in charge is not a recipe for success which is why we vote. Think about how successful communism was. No matter how much I disagree with the Democrat financial platform, I would never want to only have Republican control.

One party rule was enormously successful here in the US from FDR thru LBJ- with only Eineshower is considered to be in the moderate Republican/conservative Democrat. One party lifted us from the great depression, defeated Hilter, intergrated the Army, educated its people thru the GI, created the vast middle class, ushered in civil and women's rights and so on and so on. Democrats got lazy and started to rely on taxing everything to add programs. Social engineering thru the tax code doesn't work. And the Republicans took over for the next 30 years and look what has happen to us. In order to foster change for good or evil-one party rule speeds it up. Look at the disaster before us with spilt governing. Gridlock and economic pain.

Funny how republicans always bring up money. Never equality, ethics, or human rights... money.

So during that time no other party was elected to any office? I missed that part of history.

I will gladly compare any monetary contributions or volunteer hours with any democrat. I believe in my right to (1) keep more of my income (2) use it how I see fit and (3) support the charities or causes that are I feel are most important.

Still missing the point, entirely^

If you want to show true compassion and make a differnece, deliver results yourself instead of funding a bloated government.

I'm right there with you, R5.
