Breaking News: Pope Benedict leaves Vatican...

for the last time as Pope. Live now on CNN and the major networks. A can't miss once in a lifetime event.

by Anonymousreply 1303/03/2013

Maybe it will be like that episode of MASH and they'll get radio news later on that his helicopter got shot down over the Sea of Japan.

I could care less.

He's got 3 altar boys stashed under his cassock.

by Anonymousreply 402/28/2013

How is this news "breaking"? He's doing exactly what he said he'd do on the day he'd do it. This isn't a surprise.

A CAN miss, especially if you're a gay person. Stop giving this outdated institution the time of day!

I seriously don't get the people here who hope the next Pope is all liberal. Why do you fucking care about a pope?! He's nothing except in third world countries. Stop acting as though he's president.

by Anonymousreply 602/28/2013

The Holy Father is the direct representative of the Lord here on Earth which, makes he MUCH more important than ANY President.

You can't quit being pope. He's still the pope till the day he dies. He can pretend he's not but he is.

And this new guy they elect won't be the REAL pope, until he dies.

It's like if you get married and then just say "I'm quitting the marriage." You're still married.

by Anonymousreply 802/28/2013

And I am telling you

I'm NOT going...

by Anonymousreply 902/28/2013

Papacy. What a funny word.

by Anonymousreply 1003/01/2013

Good Riddance.

by Anonymousreply 1103/01/2013

Is it true that he has a German boyfriend? The one that worked as his assistant wasn't he?

by Anonymousreply 1203/03/2013

You can't quit being pope, he'll still be the pope. It's like saying you have no liver, you can say you quit, but you still have a liver.
