Mini Cooper Countryman

Anyone have one and can offer an opinion? After reading a few Mini Cooper forums it appears that the 4x4 has issues.

Clown car. A neighbor bought one a few years ago. She only had it for a a few months before she replaced it with another car. There used to be problems with engine fires. Imagine they've fixed it by now.

Consumer Reports says reliability has dropped to well below average.

My Dad had one of the first they imported to the US (late 50s early 60s?). It was always in danger of getting squashed by those big finned US cars of the time, but it ran fine.

And no BMW premium in those days...

It doesn't even look Mini. The models I drove felt more like a Murano. I am drooling over the coupe - which also doesn't look very Mini.

As with every new Mini model, you wait two production years before considering a purchase. The first Mini Cooper (re-design) couldn't survive American freezing temperatures.

I'd never buy a car that requires premium fuel.
