Teacher in Kentucky Who Was Called 'Queer' and 'Twinkle Toes' by Co-Workers and then Fired Because He Was Gay

He looks after abandoned animals and has a collection of Llamas. As he can't get a job in the great hate State of Kentucky, he's been reduced to accepting donations to keep them alive. Kentucky is one of 38 states where you can be fired at will for being gay.

Fantastic pictures and sad, but hopeful story at link. The guy deserves a rich husband.

Sweet guy with a tender heart. Of course, he's having a rough time of it. While the bigots that hassled him are probably thriving.

Hopefully, there are enough kind people (like the woman that started the fund) to help see him through this rocky time.

Good luck Kevin!

thanks for link op i hope he gets a lot of support

someone should send this to Ellen

by Anonymousreply 402/27/2013

This is the Facebook page for the school that fired him. Feel free to give them a piece of your mind:

by Anonymousreply 502/27/2013

How horrible. He sounds like a really great guy, and anyone who loves animals as much as he does is A-OK in my book. I hope things turn in his favor.

by Anonymousreply 602/27/2013

I'm afraid that because his location is known that he and the llamas might become objects of, yes, I know, what a fucking drama -- hate crimes.

Because in places like where he lives, it's the natural progression. Let's see how the Kentucky Cunts do themselves otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 702/27/2013

I thought the same thing, r7. I didn't read the story, but I hope his roots serve him better.

by Anonymousreply 802/27/2013

Ellen needs to transplant him and the llamas to California.

by Anonymousreply 902/27/2013

Kentucky is a hellhole of desperation and Jesus. The only place more depressing is Oklahoma.

by Anonymousreply 1002/27/2013

Time to sue (memo to ACLU)!

by Anonymousreply 1102/28/2013

I haven't heard the label "twinkle toes" since the '70s.

by Anonymousreply 1202/28/2013

Sent him a few bucks through OP's link.

by Anonymousreply 1302/28/2013

Unfortunately, Kentucky has no laws against discrimination based on sexual orientation. He has no legal grounds on which to sue.

by Anonymousreply 1402/28/2013

Wow! What a nice contrast in attitude toward the victim between this thread and the one about the openly gay mayoral candidate in MS.

If Jesus came back today and saw what was done in his name he'd never stop vomiting.

Kentucky is also one of those places where toilet paper (and using it thoroughly) and toothbrushes are baffling novelties; no wonder its reputation is that of a haven for the mentally retarded. Isn't one of their senators some former baseball player?

by Anonymousreply 1803/01/2013

You can donate money to this guy?

[quote]Was Called 'Queer' and 'Twinkle Toes' by Co-Workers

Sounds like his flames could have been seen from space.

by Anonymousreply 2003/01/2013

Watch this thread turn on a dime when they find out he's a republican.

by Anonymousreply 2103/01/2013

Who are the "they" who are going to find out he's a Republican, r21?
