How do you pronounce this name: Kweon

I have an interview in a couple hours and I don't want to embarrass myself.

You pronounce it the way that Tom Brokaw and Barbara Walters pronounce crayon.

Do you have a phone number? Maybe you can call with your number blocked and hear how it's pronounced on voice mail or when the person answers the phone.

by TIAreply 302/27/2013

Just ask!

Is the person known to be black, or Korean? If the latter, it's more like "Kwon."

by TIAreply 902/27/2013

ask the receptionist when you arrive.

by TIAreply 1002/27/2013

It's pronounced "smegma"

by TIAreply 1102/27/2013

OP, they're going to introduce themselves the minute you meet them. The receptionist is prob used to the mispronunciation.

by TIAreply 1202/27/2013

OP, Having an unusual first name, I would far rather someone complement me on my parents' creativity, and then ask me for the correct pronunciation, rather than embarrass both of us. Those with foreign names are also used to badly mangled versions. Better to be honest and politely ask for the truth.

Hope they don't read DL.

It was Key-WAHN (rhymes with 'beyond').

He said it first (phew!).

by TIAreply 1802/27/2013

The lady pronounced her name Shytheed, spelled shithead.

Sad to read posts from very racist morons, instead of sticking up for fellow minorities facing discrimination and prejudice.

by TIAreply 2102/27/2013
