I invited a friend for dinner tomorrow and she yelled at me NOOOO, it's Oscar night. I didn't even know. Do people still watch this crap?

The Tonys are too gay.

The Oscars are too California-bisexually.

From a decorative stance I'd want a SAG award...they are quite lovely for home decor.

by Anonymousreply 302/23/2013

The ratings continue to slide. They need to increase mainstream appeal.

ABC seems to think the Oscars are too gay. They're promoting it as "Finally, an Oscarcast that even guys will love!" because of the James Bond tribute.

Year and after, and yet the solution, year after year, is more Billy Crystal, more salutes to musicals, more Debbie Allen-esque choreographed spectacles of explosive diarrhea, and, year after year, less time to the actual awards and awardees.

What could they be doing wrong?

by Anonymousreply 1402/24/2013

r14, I heard one of the Oscar producers saying that this year will not be an awards show with entertainment thrown in. It will be an entertainment show...with awards!

by Anonymousreply 1502/24/2013

Only if there are more caftans/earrings on the red carpet.

This is a recipe for disaster.

by Anonymousreply 1702/24/2013

Will they be doing that annoying thing where they have five previous winnners addressing the current nominees? And where is the Official Oscar Thread? Is it too early?

by Anonymousreply 1802/24/2013

They need Joe Jonas and Zac Efron to dance shirtless and make out with each other.
