The real scam that is health care

Called the chargemaster and exists even at nonprofits where they rake in the cash and push the unknowing for ever more donations.

I just received a bill for $712. The "professional charges" are only $174; the "technical charges," whatever that consists of, are $538. There is also a state surcharge of $13. I guess I should consider myself lucky that this non-profit medical group is actually giving me a discount although I am uninsured. I only have to pay just under $150.

By the way, the medical service I received? Therapy for anxiety. Ha.

Back to the focus of the article, what can be done about these outrageous mark-ups? What would happen if someone brought their own aspirin/marker/band-aids with them to the hospital?

It amazes me that more people are interested in worthless posts by a fake Adele. No wonder Congress looks and acts like it does.

Agreed, R2. And that article was horrifying.
