Has anyone in New York City switched to Energy Plus?

My United Mileage Plus account will give me 12,000 miles for doing this. Does it affect your bill if you switch from plain old Con Ed?

I did ... and the rate was low for a while but then all of a sudden my electric bills were huge -- they raised the delivery rates little by little... I called them and they actually gave me a refund for 4 months worth of the increase.... and I went back to con ed.

NYC is over.

R1 - the same thing happened to me. I paid less at first, but then a bit more and now I'm paying double than with ComEd (it's ComEd in Chicago, ConEd in New York City).

I was wondering if rates in general had been raised - now I know better.

I'm going to switch back. I got the miles already so fuck them.

I also thought that EnergyPlus was "more green" based on their advertising. It was misleading because I thought the energy came more from wind and alternative energy - seems like that's not the case at all. It donates some money to it - don't know how much or what that means.

Crap. I just signed up with them.

Just switch back at the first rate increase, R4.
