If ratings don't improve, he's going to join Ann Curry in the unemployment line.
Matt Lauer is on thin ice

Can't stand Lauer. He's long overdue to get fired.

This story is two months old.
And how is this a reputable publication, if you can even call it a publication...
|by Anonymous||reply 2||02/20/2013|
Good, Lauer is a tool.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||02/20/2013|
I wish it was true. I can't stand Matt Lauer. He looks like a Meerkat.

I think Mattie is kinda yesterday. They need a cute airhead to get the girls screaming. I mean, who is their audience but: fraus; welfare queens; caftans and college girls?
|by Anonymous||reply 5||02/22/2013|
They need Willie Geist and someone way better than Savannah "I Look Like A Constipated Tranny With Fivehead" Guthrie" to be the new hosts.

They are literally working day and night building his "private equestrian complex" out in the Hamptons. I can hear them sawing and hammering 7 days a week even in the darkest of winter nights at 7:30 pm. And the day after the blizzard I could hear work going on over there. Matt's in a big hurry to get that place finished.

I noticed this morning they sent Willie to Miami with Al & Savannah, not Matt.
Too bad. He may be a tool, but Matt looks HOT in a swimsuit....

R10 Matt has Fridays off as per his contract
He only does 4 days per week.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||02/22/2013|
Matt Lauer was off all week long. He was substituted by Carl Quintanilla on Monday; and David Gregory on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/22/2013|
Replace him with Peter Alexander. Umph.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||02/22/2013|
The referenced article is from December. Willie in his chinos this morning looked like he was packing something.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||02/22/2013|
Matt needs to go.
NBC just reupped David Gregory at MTP. I think that was a mistake too.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||02/22/2013|
Matt Lauer is the best thing about the Today show, he is the only reason I watch it and good riddance to Ann Curry, she was horrible.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/22/2013|
R16 = NOT Matt's wife.
[quote]NBC just reupped David Gregory at MTP.
Considering the ratings are in the shitter specifically because everyone thinks Gregory is a fucking tool, one wonders why.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/22/2013|
The face of a rat and the body of a man. Interesting combination, R10.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||02/22/2013|
Anybody else find Willie Geist kinda sexy? A dishwater ginger in that "suburban breeder dad" category?

[quote] [R10] Matt has Fridays off as per his contract
That is in keeping with the rich people' unwritten rule --We leave for the Hamptons on Thursday, not Friday like the secretaries who share 10 to a house. And we fly. Seaplane, helicopter, small plane, private jet. We would not be caught touching the ground in places like Wantagh or Islip.

Time for Matt to go. And take a downgrade to local across town. WCBS-2 has an opening resulting from Rob Morrison's speedy exit.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||02/22/2013|
Replace him with Bill Hemmer.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/22/2013|
r4 I wish it were true.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/23/2013|
Matt is talented and hawt. Don't be a hater. You all sound worse than the time, Blair was made because her retarded cousin upstaged her after she won a school award.

When are they going to understand? Those morning chat/"news" shows have audiences mostly comprised of women over the age of 35. Every time they publicly fire their female 35+ on-air talent and replace them with younger women, they re-enact every older woman's most primal fear. Their audience experiences the firing of Jane Pauley, Ann Curry, et al as a betrayal of THEMSELVES. Of course they abandon the show that just (to their mind) abandoned them.
You'd think they'd have learned their lesson 24 years ago with the Pauley/Norville debacle, but no.

I'm always happy NOT to see Matt Lauer on the Today show. Not there on Fridays? Great!! I wish he would take more days off each week -- like all of them.
