Who should be the next Bond?

Because the choices in the other poll are idiotic.

by Anonymousreply 2902/19/2013

Dot Jones!

by Anonymousreply 102/18/2013

Obvious but Barry Sloane from Revenge would be my choice.

by Anonymousreply 202/18/2013

Tom Hardy is too good to play Bond.

by Anonymousreply 302/18/2013

Richard Simmons

by Anonymousreply 402/18/2013

Clive Owen was offered the role before Daniel Craig and turned it down.

by Anonymousreply 502/18/2013

Clive Owen would have been excellent.

by Anonymousreply 602/18/2013

Clive Owen is the obvious choice.

As much as I love Henry Cavill, he's too pretty for the role. Nicholas Hoult is much too young. Tom Hardy is too rough and tumble. The others listed are non-entities.

by Anonymousreply 702/18/2013

Robert Pattinson will make a good Bond in about 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 802/18/2013

That list is laughable, so I chose "other". I think they should have an unknown do the role.

by Anonymousreply 902/18/2013

David Gandy is a great choice OP, and I think they'd be better off grooming an unknown like Gandy who physically personifies Bond rather than trying to make another Brit star happen.

by Anonymousreply 1002/18/2013

Clive Owen is too old now. I'm sure he's kicking himself for turning Bond down.

He never, ever had the big breakthrough role in the U.S. that could have made him. And much less talented actors (Gerard Butler, hello?) are getting parts that should have been his. His last roles were made-for-cable movies.

by Anonymousreply 1102/18/2013

Doesn't the Bond actor have to be British?

by Anonymousreply 1202/18/2013

I'm Scottish, you skirt-wearin' poodle-walker!

by Anonymousreply 1302/18/2013

James Franco!

by Anonymousreply 1402/18/2013

And I'm Australian, you caftan-wearing er, um... shihtzu holder.

by Anonymousreply 1502/18/2013

And I'm Welsh! Love me?

by Anonymousreply 1602/18/2013

Benedict Cumberbatch. how about a brainy Bond?

by Anonymousreply 1702/18/2013

Irish here. Where's my Jameson?

by Anonymousreply 1802/18/2013

I say it should be given to an American since these nasty Brits keep taking American roles.

by Anonymousreply 1902/18/2013

Tom Hardy. He's both handsome and very sexy, he's the right age, and he's talented.

He also has what I consider to be essential to a good Bond: He can seem terribly brutal, or quite polished. Bond is really a sort of hired killer, the only difference between him and a hit man is a thin veneer of civilization.

by Anonymousreply 2002/18/2013

my god, I didn't realize that the Bond actors covered all the countries of the British isles (and Australia mate). Moore and Craig were the only English Bonds. Didn't realize that.

by Anonymousreply 2102/18/2013

I don't think Clive Owen has the discipline and physical prowess to get through a Bond film nowadays. He could've done it following Brosnan but not now that Craig has made Bond a Bourne-like action star.

by Anonymousreply 2202/19/2013

Hoult would be a good choice for a James Bond, jr. franchise.

by Anonymousreply 2302/19/2013

Chaz Bono needs to be on that list.

by Anonymousreply 2402/19/2013

007 is not really an interesting character to play. A bit too 2-dimensional and stereotype. Unless the producers are really trying to push the envelope and let Bond go wild, I doubt really interesting actors are willing to jump on board.

by Anonymousreply 2502/19/2013

Michael Fassbender would get my vote!

by Anonymousreply 2602/19/2013

Idris Elba. Sexy as hell and it is time for a black Bond.

by Anonymousreply 2702/19/2013

Other. I was intrigued by the idea that Idris Elba was in the running.

Tom Hardy would be a good choice, though.

by Anonymousreply 2802/19/2013

Jude's looks are too deteriorated at this point. Maybe 10 years ago but no longer. Cavill has the looks but he is a bland actor. He would be Roger Moore like. I still think Clive could pull it off.
