Celebrity Dinner Party

If you could invite five famous people to dinner (saving a seat for yourself)... who would you ask?

Bill Clinton - no reason needed

Gail Collins - she's clever

Frank Bruni - I think he's cute

I actually can't think of two more I'd really like right now, I have a hangover

Dave Matthews - I'm a huge fan

Betty White - to keep things lively

by Anonymousreply 202/17/2013

Continuing in your New York Times theme, OP, why not invite Patrick Healy and David Carr? They can recommend a good rehab for you.

by Anonymousreply 302/17/2013

It's a hangover not an addiction, R3.

But you've just rocketed to #1 on Cunt Dinner Party.

by Anonymousreply 402/17/2013

R14, thanks for remembering Cornel West. He would be a fantastic guest!!

I'd love to have Julian Bond come, too. He's been a hero of mine since I was a kid, and I met him last year but didn't tell him so because I didn't want to embarrass him with my carrying on about how wonderful he is.

by Anonymousreply 1602/17/2013

You'd do better to have John Lewis as your hero rather than Julian. It was John who did the heavy lifting during the movement and even after. Julian was always the pretty one with the elite parents who got more credit than he deserved. Though I am fond of his sister, Jane.
