My bf is 5'2" and his clothes never fit.

He's fit, but the clothes hang off him. He looks rumpled, even when wearing a suit.

Do short guys need to have their clothes tailored or should he be shopping in the boys department? His height is a sensitive subject, but he looks slovenly when we go out.

Short is one thing but you didn't tell us about his body. Can you provide a shot of his naked body?

by Anonymousreply 102/17/2013

Children's department. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 202/17/2013

Tailoring will solve the problem, give him a tailored outfit for a gift WITHOUT COMMENT and he will see the difference.

Boys are not cut correctly.

5' 2"?! Is he in middle school???

by Anonymousreply 402/17/2013

OP, your boyfriend doesn't care how his pants fit and uses bad retailers as an excuse. Every short gay knows how to use a sewing machine.

You have to know how to tailor sleeves on shirts as well as jackets to avoid Shirley Partridge blousiness at the wrist.

You have to make darts at the back of your midsection to avoid the same bunchiness at the waist.

You have to hem, cuff and sometimes re-seam the legs of your pants. If you have an ass, you sometimes have to bring in the waist.

by Anonymousreply 502/17/2013

Are you serious, R5? That sounds like a lot of work.

by Anonymousreply 602/17/2013

I would love a bf that short, I could set my glass on his head at cocktail parties.

by Anonymousreply 702/17/2013

There's a thing called a tailor at every department store and dry cleaner. They've existed for hundreds of years for a reason. The entire world knows this. You're gay and you don't?

by Anonymousreply 802/17/2013

Tailor: $45 for jacket sleeves

Me: One hour, Europro, steam iron

Puddly Drapes: Priceless!

by Anonymousreply 902/17/2013

I don't wear sports jackets or suits, but he does. I just buy my casual clothes and they fit.

The Faux Naive Troll strikes again.

by Anonymousreply 1102/17/2013

As does the Bitter, Paranoid Hall Monitor Troll.

by Anonymousreply 1202/17/2013

I used to shop in boys' departments until I was 32, and *finally* had a 30" waist.

by Anonymousreply 1302/17/2013

Shouldn't the question be, what is wrong with the OP where he can't rate a normal sized boyfriend?

by Anonymousreply 1402/17/2013

OP, is your boyfriend Scott Caan?

by Anonymousreply 1502/17/2013

I'm that short, OP, and yes, tailored is a must.

Some brands are really great for shorter men (Topman, some H&M, All Saints) but most mainstream brands are not.

by Anonymousreply 1602/17/2013

Here you go, OP.

by Anonymousreply 1702/17/2013

I'm 6'2" and my clothes never fit either.

Maybe we need to start using Phaedra's donkey booty video.

by Anonymousreply 1802/17/2013

The important question--how big is his dick?

by Anonymousreply 1902/17/2013

He's five foot five!!!!

by Anonymousreply 2002/17/2013

For any man who is hard to fit, caftans are the only answer.

by Anonymousreply 2102/17/2013

Forget the five feet, let's talk about the two...oh, never mind.
