People who tilt their heads to one side when photographed

What is that about?

by Anonymousreply 1402/17/2013

I hate when they do things with their hands around their face.

.

Thank god they've outlawed the "jazz-hands."

I can't stand women who stick their tongue out during a photo. The very first thing I think of is "oh she's trying to advertise to the world that she'll blow anyone with that tongue"

I tilt my head while taking photographs. It makes the pictures slightly askew, but what can I say? I have scoliosis.

What, you've got something against THIS?

by Anonymousreply 902/17/2013

They don't want a mug shot or passport image.

by Anonymousreply 1002/17/2013

You have to find your angles, bitch. Haven't you learned ANYTHING from America's Next Top Model?!

by Anonymousreply 1102/17/2013

I dislike pictures where a guy is flipping the bird at the camera.

I take it personally.

Sorority pose!

same reason we tilt our head to the side slightly when we are listening to someone and want to appear interested or introspective. It's called the Divine Tilt in art history. Jesus and Mary also always had their head tilted in paintings, it's seen in Pagan art work too, i.e. The Birth of Venus.

Basically, it conveyed an image of piety. Filtered down into body language and social norms, generation to generation, until today, when you'll see that Hillary Clinton tilts her head whenever listening to a question, or your 16 year-old cousin tilt her head in every Facebook photograph.
