Do you broadcast your sexual activity on the internet via places like chaturbate and AFF?

I have only recently started watching men and women broadcast sexual activity on these sites. You can watch for free. Often I end up seeing some incredible stuff. What surprises me is the casualness. Most are clearly identifiable and leave nothing to the imagination. Some broadcasts are very intimate and personal. Anyone can capture these images. Many young college age men are on there. This stuff never goes away and can haunt you 20 years from now. Please explain

by Anonymousreply 49December 10, 2018 3:14 AM

Few young college men are on DL so you won't find the explanation here.

by Anonymousreply 1February 7, 2013 12:16 PM

The broadcasters are every legal age, not just young people. I asked about the young because they may be trying to establish careers and a future.

We've had this conversation before about Cam4. I just discovered Chaturbate which is better than Cam4 in every way. What is AFF?

by Anonymousreply 3February 7, 2013 1:40 PM

I just checked out Charurbate on my iPhone... it works on iOS, *** no Flash required ***.

This changes everything.

by Anonymousreply 4February 7, 2013 1:44 PM

I lack nothing now

by Anonymousreply 5February 7, 2013 1:49 PM

I can't believe some of you seem to have so few privacy concerns.

by Anonymousreply 6February 7, 2013 1:51 PM

[quote] Do you broadcast your sexual activity on the internet via places like chaturbate and AFF?

No, I don't, actually

Looking at chaturbate is like looking at animals in the zoo, they look bored and lifeless.

by Anonymousreply 7February 7, 2013 2:01 PM

AFF is Adult Friend Finder. I have been a member for years. I have gotten laid more from that site than any other avenue to score. Mostly a straight site BUTT, not nearly as straight as they claim in their profiles. I am on its brother site for gays and never gotten laid once although I had a few creepy offers. Chaturbate can be just as [R7] describes. I just have it on while I am busy with other things and often see something just incredible. Watch for the newbies, they give it away freely.

by Anonymousreply 8February 7, 2013 2:40 PM

I whack off on cam4 regularly & have found countless hot skype partners on that site.

by Anonymousreply 9February 7, 2013 2:44 PM

[quote]I just checked out Charurbate on my iPhone... it works on iOS, *** no Flash required ***.

I found that about half the chats work. I don't know how to know it advance so it's annoying.

by Anonymousreply 10February 8, 2013 6:13 PM

How can I broadcast on chaturbate with my iPad? Help!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 11January 3, 2014 8:21 AM

[quote] I just discovered Chaturbate which is better than Cam4 in every way.

How is it better than Cam4 in every way??

by Anonymousreply 12January 3, 2014 12:32 PM

I'm always amazed at some of the stuff people will put on xtube, especially when it's wide open. Some freaky stuff.

by Anonymousreply 13January 3, 2014 12:38 PM

It can't come back to haunt me because I put a DCM warning on my profile. Anyone who posts my image gets fined $250,000 or have to spend a year in jail.

by Anonymousreply 14January 3, 2014 12:53 PM

Yeah, R14, I'm sure that will work well.

by Anonymousreply 15January 4, 2014 12:28 AM

Yes, R14. It's not about the fact that people - strangers - have seen you back that gaping baseball-bat-dropping asshole up against the camera. It's all about you retaining copyright on the images and video.

by Anonymousreply 16January 4, 2014 12:50 AM

I broadcast them on the DL

by Anonymousreply 17January 4, 2014 12:54 AM

Id like it for chatbte to have broadcasting abbility on iphone

by Anonymousreply 18April 22, 2014 1:17 PM

When are they going to let us broadcast on iPhone?? I like to broadcast on-the-go.

by Anonymousreply 19April 22, 2014 1:41 PM

Ha, I just discovered Cam4 myself. (It's 2011 in my house.)

It combines the excitement of people staring at screens looking VERY concerned and the monotony of porn. I love it.

by Anonymousreply 20April 22, 2014 1:55 PM

OP,

Western society has become obsessed with itself, particularly 20 and 30 somethings. In their desperation to be seen and noticed and to be 'edgy', the most recent generation to reach adulthood has ditched the remaining decorum of common, basic, human decency for self-exploitation.

That's your answer, that's the truth and it's really very sad for humanity.

Did you also add the paragraph about Sydney University? They gunna steal your pics and identities if you don't!

by Anonymousreply 22April 22, 2014 2:03 PM

What's this about Sydney University?

by Anonymousreply 23April 22, 2014 2:13 PM

When you broadcast online you have to assume that you are constantly being recorded. Threats about legal actions against people recording you are pretty much useless, just for a fact that people from all over the world are watching you. How are you going to sue someone from some third world country? And the thing is that you have no idea if someone has recorded you and will post it online at some later date.

I've been constant viewer at cam4 for years. Even though the token system has in a way made cam4 worse there's still lot of true exhibitionism going on. And even for the token whores the situations are hot, although of course many come off as bored and boring. But still, there's lot of super hot guys there, and some couple cameras are also hot as hell. The problem is unfortunately always that there's too few women visiting cam4 as viewers and straight guy notice it pretty fast, meaning that if they don't start token whoring they just don't broadcast again.

And will it affect people's future like OP asked? Maybe, and even probably if a recording of you is put online. In the end does it matter? At this time of history it does matter if a video of you wanking is online for everyone to see, but maybe in the future so many of us have sex pictures and videos online that it makes no difference anymore.

by Anonymousreply 24April 22, 2014 2:51 PM

R21 = tiresome e-ldergay

by Anonymousreply 25April 22, 2014 5:43 PM

Many of those guys are exhibitionists who are thrilled that their stuff is so widely available.

[quote]Many of those guys are exhibitionists who are thrilled that their stuff is so widely available.

Talking about cam4: that is true. Some of those guys (and girls) have great, and sometimes fun, energy in them. Unfortunately some token whore people, especially from Eastern Europe, seem to be part of the sex trade, and sometimes I'm even wondering that is someone forcing them to be online.

Some guys see the token system as competition, or perhaps as a way to validate their hotness, or something else. I find it really hard to understand that some guys from rich countries can be online for hours wanting like 100 tokens, which is $10, to cum.

But I completely understand why some people broadcast from the sex point of view. I've thought about doing it myself sometimes but I'd never show my face.

by Anonymousreply 28April 23, 2014 1:29 AM

Has anyone ever recognized a person that are on cam? Neighbor, friend, co-worker? Of course those people must realize those vids really never go away..years from now applying for a position someone in Human Resources will have checked..

by Anonymousreply 29April 23, 2014 1:34 AM

Ironically, Datalounge itself is a great example of the fact that the commonplace notion that "things on the internet are there forever" is way overstated. It's absolutely true that you can't count on anything you posted ever not being accessible, but plenty of stuff that's put online does get lost for good, probably more than is preserved. Ever try to find a pre-2010 thread here? Unless it's one of a dozen or so on the archive page, you're SOL. Even the Internet Archive drops lots of images in pages it preserves.

by Anonymousreply 30April 23, 2014 1:45 AM

Yes R30, it's true but just because you can't find something at the moment doesn't mean it's not on some hard drive somewhere. There are many guys from cam4 whose wank videos turn up online constantly at various services but they are deleted pretty soon because performers ask them to. I don't know if they have hired some third party that specialises in that but it just shows that those videos are available and can come out anytime.

And I'm not an expert on this. I've just sometimes tried to find some hot guy's wank video online after seeing him at cam4 but have discovered that even if you find links to his wank videos they are all gone and sometimes have an explanation that they were deleted by request.

But the reality is that we don't know what the world will be like in five years. Technology is developing in such a huge pace at the moment that it might possible in few years to completely erase unwanted information from the web. But still one has to realize that if you wank online with your face showing it is very possible that someone is recording you and that recording is possibly never going to be deleted.

by Anonymousreply 31April 23, 2014 2:06 AM

The boyfriend and I have fooled around on chaturbate a couple of times and it was a pretty hot experience.

by Anonymousreply 32April 23, 2014 2:11 AM

[quote]There are many guys from cam4 whose wank videos turn up online constantly at various services

Links to those sites, please.

by Anonymousreply 33April 23, 2014 8:05 AM

[30] A lot of sites have a robots.txt that restricts certain actions by webcrawlers. On the other hand: there are plenty of people (way more than you think) who save entire profiles, take screenshots, screencaps. You'll never know if or when they'll post that stuff on Tumblr, Flickr, etc. , long after the content has disappeared from the web.

by Anonymousreply 34April 23, 2014 8:21 AM

[quote]Links to those sites, please.

If you google e.g. a cam4 performer whose videos are online you'll get at least one site that specialises on webcam videos. But many times they only show a short preview of the video and then you'll have to buy a membership, and I have no idea if they still have that video there.

But some videos are spread namelessly on rapidshare or other sharing sites so you have to know the link to the video. At cam4 there are sometimes people in the chat who are giving away links to the video of the person on whose cam and chat they are on. At least m a n s a f had this happen many times. He probably was also very active on getting all the videos of him off the net. Too bad he quit cam4 in the beginning of this year since he was nice to watch.

by Anonymousreply 35April 23, 2014 8:53 AM

And of course many times wank videos from cam4 and elsewhere end up on xtube and other porn youtube sites without the performer's name. So finding them (for a fan or for the performer himself) can be quite difficult.

by Anonymousreply 36April 23, 2014 8:58 AM

[quote]But many times they only show a short preview of the video and then you'll have to buy a membership, and I have no idea if they still have that video there.

How is that legal? How could a site profit off of your performance when you didn't give permission?

by Anonymousreply 37April 23, 2014 9:47 AM

He quit? I thought I still always see him. He never does anything though and he's a jerk. He's always rude to people in his chatroom. People would ask him about private show prices and he would be like "What's the point of telling you, you're not going to buy one. You're just wasting my time." Everything was about people wasting his time.

by Anonymousreply 38April 23, 2014 9:51 AM

BTW, was he cut? And an Aussie? How did that happen?

by Anonymousreply 39April 23, 2014 9:52 AM

[quote]How is that legal? How could a site profit off of your performance when you didn't give permission?

I've never been a member of that particular site so I don't know what's really going on. It's the number one site that always seems to come up in search results and it has had lot of 30 second preview clips of cam4 guys. But those clips never show any real wanking so I don't know if you really get what you think you are getting from them.

[quote]He quit? I thought I still always see him. He never does anything though and he's a jerk. He's always rude to people in his chatroom. I think that he really did quit and delete his username at cam4 few months ago. He said he was gonna do it because he wanted to do something else in his life, which I totally understand.

Did he ever do private shows? I remember him always saying no to it when guys wanted it but could be that he did those new cam4 hidden shows a bit.

He was actually a pretty decent and nice guy if you understood that it was mostly business to him. I do think, though, that he did get off, at least a bit, from being admired by large group of men. You also must remember that he was at cam4 for at least a couple of years and he got lot of shit from people because he kept his prices so high. It was just constant bullshitting from various viewers and I can only imagine how exhausting it must've been. Trolls who are pissed of something are extremely annoying, and he got those constantly.

[quote]BTW, was he cut? And an Aussie? How did that happen?

Actually I'm not sure if he was cut but could've been, can't remember. (And apparently being cut in Australia is pretty usual, or at least was for guys his age.) I mean I saw him wank a few times and cum a couple of times but I just really can't remember.

[34] and others:

I agree completely that a lot of material on the web ends up being preserved in ways that aren't accessible to the public but could become accessible at any time -- that's what I meant when I said that you couldn't be *certain* that anything would ever go away. It's for that reason I think you have to be careful online.

But there's no doubt that a huge amount of stuff *does* go away, irrevocably. Simply in terms of cam sites, think of the number of "models" who have ten or fewer people watching them in relation to the number of very popular models -- right now among men on Cam4, the ratio is wider than 10:1 as far as I can tell. I'm sure there's a lot of recording going on, but it's hard to imagine it's one in ten viewers or more.

Another common misconception about the permanence of internet material has to do with storage. Despite the metaphor of "the cloud," digital records have to be stored on some physical medium, and these actually deteriorate at a faster rate and fail more frequently than, say, paper or film. It's commonly believed that digital preservation is cheaper, safer, lasts longer, and is less labor-intensive than other methods, but it's none of these. There's no question that digital has its advantages, but almost any film archivist will tell you: if you want to make sure a movie will survive a hundred years, don't store it on a hard drive, put it on film. It's true that technology of digital storage is improving, but that also means that the size and complexity of the files that would need to be preserved are increasing along with the media that will hold them.

So even if there is some automated system preserving more than we think of our sleazy heritage, that still doesn't mean that a great proportion of what's online will last for long -- or even beyond the moment it's streamed.

Jeez, I'm being long-winded! And this is really tangential to the topic of the thread, because we agree that people need to be very careful about getting their buttholes out on the internet, just for slightly different reasons. If anyone's read this far, stop wasting your life -- go out for a walk, read a book, watch someone jerk off, for God's sake.

by Anonymousreply 41April 23, 2014 12:37 PM

[37] - The issue of ownership and copyright in those videos is probably pretty tricky -- in the case of Cam4, the models retain ownership but Cam4 gets a license to do whatever they want with the videos, including redistribute them. So assuming that the video isn't spread around by the cam site for promotional reasons, and that some third party capped and uploaded the video, it is probably a pretty straightforward copyright violation in countries that are signatories to the Berne Convention (even without the laughable statements some models have on their pages), and the model could sue and win.

But it's pretty safe to assume that wouldn't happen because of how expensive it would be to hire a lawyer to file suit against some stranger who might not even be in the same country, and how small the damages would be for the redistribution of a homemade streaming video which would have stopped making money for the model the second it was over anyway. Not to mention that the kind of model who would be very upset about his image being spread around would also be hesitant to come forward in public court under his real name to talk about it.

(Also, the Terms of Service seem to require that any legal action arising out of someone's use of the site be brought in Curacao. It's actually a pretty interesting read.)

Most Chaturbate shows tend to be recorded. I've found many of them (including my own) on Gay Cam Videos. If you broadcast on Cam4, you're less likely to be recorded.
