Jodie Foster Singing French

Je t'attends depuis la nuit des temps

by Just becausereply 2202/07/2013

and here, she speaks impeccable french and looks stunning.

by Just becausereply 102/06/2013

Ah yes, her failed attempts to become a pop star in France.

by Just becausereply 202/06/2013

She wasn't seriously trying to do that.

by Just becausereply 302/06/2013

She's a better actor in French than in English.

by Just becausereply 402/06/2013

No, but surprisingly her voice is less 'dykevoice' en Francais.

by Just becausereply 502/06/2013

The only French-language role I've seen her in was Un long dimanche de fiançailles, but I was amazed at what a better actress she was than usual, precisely because of the lack of dykevoice and all the baggage that goes along with that.

She did an interview on QTV that was really illuminating, and kind of helped put her wacked out golden globes speech in perspective.

by Just becausereply 702/06/2013

Can't stand her since she continues to sport that bigot homophobe Mel Gibson.

I'm sure she'll miss all your support R8.

She used to like to show off her beautiful French (she was first in her class at the Lycee Francauise in LA), and for a while she wanted to try to be a pop star in France. She now owns a place on the Ile St. Louis in Paris so she can use it all the time.

by Just becausereply 1102/06/2013

Sorry, that should be "Francaise," not "Francauise."

by Just becausereply 1202/06/2013

It's "Français," R12. "Lycée" is masculine.

by Just becausereply 1302/06/2013

How old was Jodie there? She looked and sounded wonderful.

I've never understood *when* she ever lived in France as a kid long enough to become bilingual, and why.

by Just becausereply 1602/07/2013

She was taught by native French speakers from a young age, R16. Being at Lycée Français is like being in France, with the same curriculum as French kids, etc.

by Just becausereply 1702/07/2013

Je pensais que Jodie chante plutôt bien.

by Just becausereply 1802/07/2013

Oh, I see now. She worked in France because she could already speak French.

Three Jodies in three different butch outfits singing Frog

I didn't realize the Lycée Français de Los Angeles was preschool through grade 12. I'd been thinking all this time it was just a high school. That clears things up.

by Just becausereply 2102/07/2013

Jodie a toujours été grande au chant, s'exprimant en anglais, tout comme Bradley Cooper.
