"Didn't America get health care reform and that the insurance companies can't pull that pre-existing condition bullshit anymore?"
I never understood this pre-existing clause, which the douchebag health care company rip-off artists have gotten away with for way too many years.
Basically everyone I know has some type of "pre-existing condition"! So who the fuck are they kidding!
At my former place of employment alone, there was one guy who had childhood diabetes so he was diabetic most of his life, two people, a man and a woman, who weren't overweight yet had genetic high blood pressure, another woman, also not fat, with diabetes, basically there are a lot of people have some type of treatable health condition which is chronic. Stomach and heart conditions run in my family.
WTF is a patient supposed to do? Most people in the US, either buy insurance privately or contribute a smaller amount into their health insurance through their jobs, basically we all pay into our health insurance unless we have Medicaid, which does now have co-pays.
No matter what type of coverage we have, are we supposed to happily pay, yet not be treated for our conditions? This makes absolutely no sense.
It's like buying for car insurance, getting in an accident, then finding out that your high priced insurance is not going to cover your car repairs! This pre-existing nonsense is bullshit.
As for your pain. My mom was in pain, on and off, for many years with a dangling disc and sciatica. She went to physical therapy for about six months, twice a week, which her insurance did cover. She's in her 70s.
She's now doing great. Meanwhile her moronic former PCP was giving her pain pills, what an idiot!
