What's in fashion around your area??

I haven't noticed any trends this year. Last year or so for women, at least, there seems to be a love for turtlenecks. What is the fashion trend in your area?

by Anonymousreply 5903/09/2013

Fortunately, guys seem to FINALLY be leaving the baggy pants look behind and are wearing much tighter pants. Hubba hubba.

by Anonymousreply 101/31/2013

Poodle skirts and scarfs never seem to go out of fashion.

by Anonymousreply 201/31/2013

camouflage, jeans, cowboy boots and hip hop shit

by Anonymousreply 301/31/2013

Is it just me of is fashion sort of over. If you were making a movie set now, I'd be hard pressed to think of any fashion that screams this period. Maybe those hipsters wearing giant 80s glasses.

by Anonymousreply 401/31/2013

You can never have enough hats, gloves, and shoes.

by Anonymousreply 501/31/2013

My R4 is all fucked up. Seems like most people just wear sweats and fleece and call it a day. I am liking the return to tighter pants tho

by Anonymousreply 601/31/2013

shorts (above the knee), tank tops, flip-flops

by Anonymousreply 701/31/2013

For working women. These. How the hell do they walk around all day in them all day and then out on the sidewalks for lunch? Their feet must be killing them which may explain why so many are scowling.

by Anonymousreply 801/31/2013

Sorry. Link.

by Anonymousreply 901/31/2013

Never wear shoes you can't run in!

by Anonymousreply 1001/31/2013

long scarves wrapped around the neck for women and worn over tee shirts, sweaters, shirts, etc and in rayon, cotton, puckered material

by Anonymousreply 1101/31/2013

by Anonymousreply 1201/31/2013

Caftans, earrings. Never out of fashion.

by Anonymousreply 1301/31/2013

R8, Proof that some woman will buy anything if it's "in fashion." Those shoes are not just uncomfortable, they're ugly. Personally I'll take cute, comfy decorated ballet flats or feminine looking, modest heels, and athletic shoes for long walks.

by Anonymousreply 1401/31/2013

The majority in Vegas look very "fashion-challenged" or are purposely trying to discourage the ever-present time share recruiters offering "freebies."

by Anonymousreply 1501/31/2013

Fashion in clothing, hairstyles, car design and other visible signs of an era stopped changing 20 years ago. It's easy to recognize the 60s, 70s and 80s, but since then it's not so easy.

by Anonymousreply 1601/31/2013

All the local college girls are wearing heavy, flat-heeled boots over skinny jeans.

All the local adults are wearing fair-trade baggy mismatched things, cruelty-free walking shoes that cost at least $200, and the hair that mother nature gave them. If anyone in this town even owns a pair of high heels, I haven't seen them.

by Anonymousreply 1701/31/2013

Today, 1/31, in Chicago, I saw a number of men in tan oxfords with no brogue. They paid no attention to the color of the suit pants (black/blue?). It was disgusting.

Also, I saw a few men wearing short puffy vests over suit coats. Every one had a twee stocking cap. Vomit.

by Anonymousreply 1801/31/2013

Tight. Jeans. Tucked. Into. BOOTS.

by Anonymousreply 1901/31/2013

Love tight, skinny jeans and jeggings (jeans/leggings) and will wear them even if they go out of style.

Once The Wall fell, so did the Western World.

by Anonymousreply 2202/01/2013

Tight jeans and sandels. Yes, I know.

by Anonymousreply 2302/01/2013

I have to say ever since the ultra high heeled fuck me shoes have taken over shoe fashion I've been trying to understand why they are worn with everything. They are all right with a certain look, like little evening dresses or if you want that slut look with a pair of cuffed shorts. But they really don't work well with classier tailored or evening gowns. Just too trashy and clunky looking. Right?

by Anonymousreply 2402/01/2013

I read the title of this thread as "What's in fashion around your arse?"

by Anonymousreply 2502/01/2013

Yoga pants that show everything. Ugg boots are still hanging around here in flyover. Men are wearing much more pink, which is nice. Big hair on women that looks 60's inspired (think Adele). Huge fuck me pumps worn with everything.

by Anonymousreply 2602/01/2013

I saw three guys in one day last week with Neon green Nikes on. I guess they will be a thing this spring and summer.

by Anonymousreply 2703/06/2013

i'm seeing a lot more fancy leggings/stockings/tights on women at work - more designed/patterned and different colors -and my place is pretty conservative

by Anonymousreply 2803/06/2013

A lot of men's buttoned down shirt worn by the ladies.

A lot of skirts worn by the guys.

by Anonymousreply 2903/06/2013

I agree with earlier posters who said there seems to be no fashion

by Anonymousreply 3003/06/2013

Women wearing black yoga pants that immediately draw your eye to their camel toe.

by Anonymousreply 3103/06/2013

It always seems like that until years have passed.

I remember in the '80s thinking there really wasn't a definitive style.

Now look! You can tell the '80s from a mile away.

But styles do change less quickly than they used to. In the mid 70s, I was a kiddle and the 60s in films and on TV looked like another planet.

by Anonymousreply 3203/06/2013

Yoga pants tucked into Ugg boots

by Anonymousreply 3303/06/2013

a kiddle = a kiddie.

Sorry about that.

by Anonymousreply 3403/06/2013

Running shoes with business atire.

by Anonymousreply 3503/08/2013

Snowsuits. Still.

by Anonymousreply 3603/08/2013

Vintage clothing.

Lots of 50s sun dresses with brightly colored tights, long necklaces. Pork pie hats and tight 70s t shirts for men. Tighter bell bottom jeans. Embroidered western shirts. 50s / 60s Hawaiian shirts.

Also lots of pastels, tie dye, dip dye, long tanks with leggings and boots. And studs everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 3703/08/2013

Flesh masks

by Anonymousreply 3803/08/2013

goat roper redneck, teabagger camo

by Anonymousreply 3903/08/2013

Neon colors. It started with synthetic running tees, but now virtually all sneakers are made in bright neon colors, and clothes at places like the Gap.

by Anonymousreply 4003/08/2013

I live in a city of 75,000 in the midwest. The only thing in fashion here is what's in the mall, and that isn't much. EVERYBODY wears Aeropostale, including the gays. It's awful.

by Anonymousreply 4103/08/2013

I live in DC. People here look like they get dresed in the dark. No fashion sense whatsoever.

by Anonymousreply 4203/08/2013

Beards are the new fashion her in NYC. Every second hipster or young gay man seems to have a beard.

by Anonymousreply 4303/08/2013

As for fashion trends in the aughts, the only thing that comes to mind is that damned boho-chic that will not die. Die, already!

by Anonymousreply 4403/08/2013

Yeah, I see a lot of beards, too.

by Anonymousreply 4503/08/2013

Yeah, beards in Columbus OH, too, with short haircuts.

by Anonymousreply 4603/08/2013

I'm with R19 - been seeing a lot of (not necessarily tight) jeans tucked into boots, and a lot of untied laced-up boots at that. Oh, and beards are everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 4703/08/2013

Please, please let the exposed bra straps thing be over. That's been the trend here in my flyover region for a few years, mostly on young women, but I've spotted older women doing it too.

by Anonymousreply 4803/08/2013

Agree, R48. That does not look good.

by Anonymousreply 4903/08/2013

I'm bringing mom jeans back. It's colder than a motherfucker and the top of my ass freezes until the seat warmer kicks in.

by Anonymousreply 5003/08/2013

Trucker hats and baseball caps for women are coming back into fashion. I've noticed knapsacks are a big trend these days too

by Anonymousreply 5103/08/2013

The hipster look - Elvis Costello glasses, porno stache (or even worse, when the ends of the stache are twisted into some kind of point), mirrored sunglasses, awful tattoos, and shaved pubes are back.

by Anonymousreply 5203/08/2013

Sixpacks are trendy too. I see a lot more young guys lifting their t shirts and checking out their abs in the mirror at the gym.

by Anonymousreply 5803/09/2013

R54, Why are "jeggings" a "false economy?" They're extremely flattering on some of us, and very comfortable and practical.
