Don't eat 'vegetable' oil

How much oil have you seen a carrot yield?

Vegetable oil is a blend of corn and canola oil both GMO products...

BTW thanks for the poster in another thread who mentioned Soylent Green. It was before my time but I found a copy and watched it last night.

Wow...what a great film. Monsanto is Soylent in the modern world.

What vegetable is vegetable oil made from?

by Anonymousreply 101/31/2013

OP also just discovered Nietzsche and thinks Fight Club is the best movie ever.

"well blow me down, but I loves eatin' Olive Oyl!"

by Anonymousreply 301/31/2013

You won't even find a product called vegetable oil at Whole Foods or a gourmet grocery store. Doesn't exist.

by Anonymousreply 401/31/2013

Wrong R3. I did not care for Fight Club at all.

by Anonymousreply 501/31/2013

My smoke alarm goes off if I use olive oil.

by Anonymousreply 601/31/2013

What kind of oil would meet your approval, OP?

by Anonymousreply 701/31/2013

OP, you could have rephrased this whole post to be educational and informative, rather than coming across as a food Nazi. It's very offputting.

by Anonymousreply 801/31/2013

Is it OK to use it as j/o lube?

by Anonymousreply 901/31/2013

So you want everone to eat lard, OP?

by Anonymousreply 1001/31/2013

If you seasoned your cast iron properly, you wouldn't need to use 'vegetable' oil.

OP subsists on microwave popcorn and tiny 'snausages' from a can.

by Anonymousreply 1101/31/2013

I use olive oil, rapeseed oil, lard and bacon grease. I also don't eat a lot of carbs (just fruits and wine)

by Anonymousreply 1201/31/2013

Goose fat is the best.

by Anonymousreply 1301/31/2013

Even the name "Monsanto" sounds evil!

by Anonymousreply 1401/31/2013

I'm a 12-year-old numbskull.

by Anonymousreply 1501/31/2013

OP, I share you concern about GMO's and vegetable oils.

But your argument about how much oil could a carrot yield isn't really persuasive. The oil in vegetable oil usually comes, to the extent it does come from real vegetables, from their seeds, rather than from the "fruit" of the plant.

by Anonymousreply 1601/31/2013

I use butter or olive oil.

by Anonymousreply 1701/31/2013

I like peanut oil for the wok.

by Anonymousreply 1801/31/2013

You THINK you're using olive oil. All olive oil, especially the "extra virgin" variety, is contaminated. Sunflower seed oil, hazelnut oil, soybean oil, canola oil, Industrial chlorophyll and beta carotene,
