Thank goodness for #5... The hope that flew out of Pandora's box.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 101/22/2013

Obama is the only person on this list worth the fuss.

All of these other "entertainers" are so horrifyingly awful, I just can't....

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 201/22/2013

God almighty, when will Justin Bieber be over? I can't stand that little turd and it seems like he's in the media on a daily basis.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 301/22/2013

Ha, what a pity. I can hardly stand anyone on that list. A generation with no taste.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 401/22/2013

But they're all great thinkers, you can't deny that.

He's like the new Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian...will never go away.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 601/22/2013

Which one of these doesn't belong?

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 701/22/2013

It's kind of embarassing that Obama is even listed alongside them.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 801/22/2013

Did OP mean Top 10 Most Followed Twitter accounts vs. "Users"?

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 901/22/2013

I recall when Ashton Kutcher topped 1 million users, and it was treated as a huge deal.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1001/22/2013

The decline and fall of the American Empire ...

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1101/22/2013

"It's kind of embarassing that Obama is even listed alongside them."

I'd say it's just the opposite. Given the general level of vapidness & crap pop culture associated with the others on the list, it's somewhat remarkable that Obama has managed to engage that many voters in a social media arena.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1201/22/2013

You would think that Bieber was the most important celebrity of our time. Good God!

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1301/23/2013

He's so tiring already.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1401/23/2013

It's so funny to see the president's name sandwiched between those luminaries.

Yes.

I'm not sure some of you old ladies realize this, but Twitter is largely used by young people (i.e., people 40 and under). Its users skew young and tech-savvy. So it makes perfect sense that Twitter users with the most followers are people/companies a younger demographic would be interested in.

I find it endlessly amusing to see all the 70-plus cranks on DL shitting over things that have absolutely nothing to with them.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1601/23/2013

Twitter is disproportionately popular with the under 18 demographic. This shouldnt surprise anyone.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1701/23/2013

Anyone remember @danmotherfuck?

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1801/23/2013

I don't even do Twitter, it's so juvenile.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 1901/23/2013

Obama and YouTbube, cool. The remaining 8 are cunts with minimal talent. What an embarrassment.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2001/24/2013

I laugh when I read shit like this.

Basically the entire media and political world uses Twitter, for starters.

Yes, basically kids and teenagers. Their is absolutely no redeeming quality using Twitter. I don't even understand half the gibberish that people write!

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2201/24/2013

[quote]He's like the new Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian...will never go away.

Paris Hilton has been over for a long time now to my relief. Kim, on the other hand, has family members to step in while she recovers from public tedium or backlash like her 72-day-marriage.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2301/26/2013

How can I get my follower number up to 100,000? I've got 600 followers right now.

TIA!

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2401/27/2013

R22,there is no gibberish. Sure, a lot of teen users use all sorts of hashtags and acronyms, but the hundreds of journalists, scientists, nutritionists, doctors, politicians, and authors share a lot of valuable information. Think of it as a news feed of people you look up to and learn from.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2501/27/2013

David Muir uses it.

by Dante's 10th circle of hellreply 2601/27/2013

I tried using Twitter, but I had to quit. I pulled a groin muscle on "right foot, yellow".
