His Speech Was Terrific

I thought so.

by Anonymousreply 2301/23/2013

It was a brave speech. He is a leader.

by Anonymousreply 101/21/2013

To be included with everyone else...just very happy and proud.

by Anonymousreply 201/21/2013

The teaser about the inauguration on my local news focused on immigration and gay rights. That's what they're apparently going to highlight, and the tone was positive. I like that gay rights is one of the key take aways from the day/speech.

by Anonymousreply 401/21/2013

Yes. I was very proud to be an American today.

by Anonymousreply 501/21/2013

I actually choked up and teared up. After all this time, to be included like that by someone in power like that... it's an amazing thing to this eldergay.

I was emotional for hours after, seriously.

Thank you, President Obama.

And fuck all you right-winger morons attacking him, hating on him, and just generally being horrible people.

by Anonymousreply 601/21/2013

The part where he kept throwing his arms up and saying he's 50...was just plain odd.

by Anonymousreply 701/21/2013

Love him, love the speech, love the day!

by Anonymousreply 801/21/2013

I agree.

by Anonymousreply 901/22/2013

I you haven't seen it, you must sit down and watch it. Find the time. It's only 20 minutes of your life, but it's a great speech and one EVERY American should listen to. More than once.

by Anonymousreply 1001/22/2013

Amazing speech!!

Love all the Rethugs pundits complaining about "lack of unity."

They have GOT to be kidding.

by Anonymousreply 1101/22/2013
Love all the Rethugs pundits complaining about "lack of unity."

Yeah, and they can keep on complaining. From the sidelines. A Democratic president cannot forge "unity" with an opposition party so thoroughly dominated by extremist throwbacks. Fuck 'em. Which is the crude version of what President Obama conveyed so well in his speech.

Many of us had hoped that we would see a more confidently progressive President Obama in his 2nd term. His words are a definite step in this direction. He clearly knows it's legacy time now.

by Anonymousreply 1201/22/2013

I totally agree, Torta.

by Anonymousreply 1301/22/2013

I missed it. Did he promise to close Guantanamo again?

by Anonymousreply 1401/22/2013

Fuck off, R14. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 1501/22/2013

Bitter losers are so tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 1601/22/2013

Obama can suck my dick any day. Really - I love him [italic]that much.[/italic]
"I love you, I love you, I love you, and I hope if I say that three times, then one of those times will sink in and you will believe you were a good mother"

I thought his mother died.

by Anonymousreply 1801/22/2013

Go Fuck yourself, r15. I voted for him twice, but he damn well knows better.

by Anonymousreply 1901/22/2013

R19? Seriously... fuck yourself.

by Anonymousreply 2001/22/2013

I read through the speech somewhere online last night and it was pretty remarkable--that is the America I believe in.

by Anonymousreply 2201/23/2013

Please troll at R21; stuff it.

R22, it was courageous and amazing. And this is what the majority of the people believe in.

Let it be.
