Rick Santorum Disgusted With Pro-Gay, Pro-Abortion, Pro-Porn College Indoctrination

It's amazing how he's a regular on all the mainstream political talk shows now.

***

Rick Santorum said the nation's colleges are promoting a "sea of antagonism toward Christianity" and "indoctrinating" its youth with ideals that support gay marriage, abortion and pornography.

Santorum called in to Tony Perkins' "Washington Watch" on Tuesday to talk about the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling. The conversation dealt not only with abortion but also included other "symptoms" that have changed the nation.

Perkins spoke broadly, saying pro-choice Americans represent a troubled country that doesn't choose life, meaning "That is to follow the principals, the teachings, the instructions of God ... You see that as you've been in Washington, D.C. There is a rejection of this idea of truth, and that there is a foundation or morality, which needs to be upheld."

Santorum agreed, adding that less young people devote themselves to Christianity. "If you look at the popular culture and what comes out of Hollywood, if you go to our schools and particularly our colleges and universities, they are indoctrinated in a sea of relativism and a sea of antagonism towards Christianity."

"Abortion is a symptom. Marriage is a symptom. Pornography [is a symptom]," he continued. "All of these are symptoms to the fundamental issue that we've gotten away from the truth and the 'Truth-Giver.'"

Santorum has long been against gay marriage and anti-abortion. When he was in the running for the GOP presidential nomination, he vowed to initiate a war on porn if elected. Santorum received his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law but has criticized the notion that college is a critical entry point to the middle class.

"President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob!" Santorum said last February, according to the New York Times. "There are good, decent men and women who go out and work hard every day and put their skills to the test that aren't taught by some liberal college professor trying to indoctrinate him. I understand why he wants you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image."

The Times highlighted a 2008 study that disproved the theory that going to college makes students increasingly liberal. The study found that 18 to 24-year-old students' ideals shifted somewhat leftward, but this was in line with normally occurring shifts in that age group regardless of education.

Poor thing is preaching to an increasingly small choir.

by Anonymousreply 101/21/2013

Thanks for playin' Rick, buh-bye!

by Anonymousreply 201/21/2013

I'm disgusted by Rick Santorum.

by Anonymousreply 301/21/2013

What a twisted crock of shit. Kinda clever in a very twisted way to suggest an education is for snobs. I expect he would like to have servants illiterate; so much more controlable.

by Anonymousreply 401/21/2013

I'm talking to his people about a run in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 501/21/2013

Has he ever made a speech or any appearance in the past ten years where there has not been any mention of gays? Like James Dobson, everything takes second place to the gays. They may talk about other topics, but they always manage to work around to gays.

Could it be that they're self-hating gay men? Is their desire for male sex always simmering just below the surface?

by Anonymousreply 601/21/2013

Hardly ever. Probably. Likely.

by Anonymousreply 701/21/2013

The feeling is mutual.

by Anonymousreply 801/21/2013

Someone needs to tell Ricky that the more he blathers on, the more people are convinced he's a closeted homo.

And, as usual, someone going on and on about only liberals go to college has already gone to college. It was like Mittens complaining about Harvard types after he had two degrees from Harvard.

by Anonymousreply 901/21/2013

KILL ALL THE FETUSES!

by Anonymousreply 1001/21/2013

Gosh, I am a failure as a homo because I haven't indoctrinated one person this week!

by Anonymousreply 1101/21/2013

R11 We're letting you off with a stern warning this time.

by Anonymousreply 1201/21/2013

He's getting ready for his next run in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 1301/22/2013

Let him run.

America needs to see that kind of crazy over and over.

by Anonymousreply 1401/22/2013

His team from 2012 has already basically admitted he will run for the nomination in 2016 since he was the runner-up in 2012. Republicans often pick the 2nd place finisher to run the next time (eg. McCain was 2nd to Bush, Romney was 2nd to McCain).

by Anonymousreply 1501/22/2013

Who was runner up in 2012?

by Anonymousreply 1601/22/2013

Santorum, R16. As I just explained above.

by Anonymousreply 1701/22/2013

Nothing reaches the youth of today like Rick Santorum and Tony Perkins, I'm sure.

by Anonymousreply 1801/22/2013

Educated people don't believe his bullshit. He prefers the ignorant, they're more easily manipulated

by Anonymousreply 1901/22/2013

[quote]Nothing reaches the youth of today like Rick Santorum and Tony Perkins, I'm sure.

They may not appeal to the mainstream, but social conservatives remain an important part of the Republican Party. It's going to be interesting watching how the GOP will deal with them in the years to come.

by Anonymousreply 2001/22/2013

I would love to see a Rick Santorum sex tape where he's gobbling cock and getting DP'd. You know it's what he wants.

by Anonymousreply 2101/22/2013

I'd love to see that too, R21. Well, I wouldn't actually want to see it, but I'd like to know it exists.

by Anonymousreply 2201/22/2013

Yes R22, exactly!

by Anonymousreply 2301/22/2013

He's just cum-dizzy from fucking his hinie-hole with an Xtra-large dildo this holiday weekend.

by Anonymousreply 2401/22/2013

I really loved it when Luis Leon talked about academy award nominees and porn stars both being created in God's image.

by Anonymousreply 2501/22/2013

He's part of the Opus Dei cult.

by Anonymousreply 2601/22/2013

I wonder if he realizes how idiotic he sounds.

by Anonymousreply 2701/22/2013

He's such a backwater yokel. I'm ashamed he's from my home state. How anyone's given him a national stage is a fucking mystery.

by Anonymousreply 2801/22/2013

Knew him at Penn State. He was already a conservative shit, but like Ronald Reagan, it took his wife's family to really bring out the crazy, fundamentalist attitude in him.

by Anonymousreply 2901/22/2013

I honestly don't know why a woman like her ended up with a crazy fundie like him. Didn't she live in sin with an abortion provider or something like that?

by Anonymousreply 3001/22/2013

[quote]it took his wife's family to really bring out the crazy, fundamentalist attitude in him.

His wife has a real bazarro background. The baby doctor who delivered her became her lover when she was in college. She assisted her lover's patients who were undergoing abortions.

by Anonymousreply 3101/22/2013

Oops! That should be bizarro background.

by Anonymousreply 3201/22/2013

So Ricky thinks getting a college education makes one a snob? I guess he and his wife are snobs because they both have a college education and are sending their kids to fancy and pricey private schools.

by Anonymousreply 3301/22/2013

Calling educated people "snobs" has been a proven winner for conservatives for years. Bush did it. So did Sarah Palin. It's actually a great campaign strategy because it not only allows you to pander to the uneducated, who like to think they're morally superior (ie. the working poor and bible thumping rural hicks), but it serves as a great cover up when your own candidate is a simpleton (again--Bush, Palin). If your candidate is illiterate or just plain dumb, you can spin his image as a down to earth man of the people who's in touch with regular everyday "folks."

by Anonymousreply 3401/22/2013

sadly true r34.

by Anonymousreply 3501/22/2013

[quote]Santorum agreed, adding that [bold]less[/bold] young people devote themselves to Christianity.

[bold][italic]Fewer.[/italic][/bold] As in, "Fewer people proofread HuffPo articles than ever before."

by Anonymousreply 3601/22/2013

Pandora's Box has been opened, Rick. Now slither away in a trail of Santorum.

by Anonymousreply 3701/22/2013

Every time he gets on an anti-abortion rant, Dems need to bring up his wife's ex-lover, the abortion doctor. People don't know about that and it needs to be kept front and center.

by Anonymousreply 3801/22/2013

He's just trying out the S.I. Haywakawa strategy for winning ugly in a liberal state. But it won't work this time.

by Anonymousreply 3901/22/2013

Exactly what r34 said. Republicans have been doing that shit for many years.

by Anonymousreply 4001/22/2013

His mother should have had an abortion. Look at him in HS.

by Anonymousreply 4101/22/2013

As we can see from his senior photo, remaining a virgin until marriage was more of a given instead of an option for good old Rick.

by Anonymousreply 4201/22/2013

Actually, he's right. It was designed that way, the conservative masters of America designed the universities to be intellectual ghettos where liberals were safely confined away from the economy and the corridors of power.

by Anonymousreply 4301/22/2013

During the Repub primaries I recall while commenting on the "global warming hoax" he stated that the planet earth was basically for the use of mankind- I think he put is like the earth exists to serve man not the other way around.

He is such a dangerous man, really- and evil. One of the hallmarks of true evil in my opinion is someone who thinks they are just the opposite. His intolerance, willful ignorance and twisted interpretations of Christian dogma that he insists on making the law of the land (law has nothing to do with any religious document) is very very twisted. In his mind his piety makes him good, or something like that- as all such people think when they hide behind religion.

by Anonymousreply 4401/22/2013

People who think that about the Earth R44 have no problem trashing the environment and consuming resources with no thought to the future consequences. After all, god will take care of it.

by Anonymousreply 4501/22/2013

Such s bitter, ugly man.

by Anonymousreply 4601/22/2013

I think Rick Santorum has fantasies of sucking of a cast of really hot and ethnically and racially diverse men.

But the recent presidential candidate and former U.S. Senator for Pennsylvania will, no doubt, continue to sing his tunes of denial.

by Anonymousreply 4701/22/2013

[quote]His mother should have had an abortion. Look at him in HS.

I've never seen such a horrible photo in my life...omg!

by Anonymousreply 4801/22/2013

Rick Santorum sure protests a lot against gays. Major closet case.

by Anonymousreply 4901/22/2013

Men who are truly heterosexual don't really think about gay guys too much because it doesn't apply to them and they are too busy thinking about/chasing pussy. The ones like Santorum who have an obsession with gay men are most likely deeply repressed closet cases.

And notice it's always gay men these freaks like Santorum go on and on about. They rarely, if ever, mention lesbians or demonize them in the same way they do gay guys.

by Anonymousreply 5001/22/2013

[quote]His wife has a real bazarro background. The baby doctor who delivered her became her lover when she was in college. She assisted her lover's patients who were undergoing abortions.

Why are the press and his Republican rivals afraid to bring this up in the campaigns?

by Anonymousreply 5101/23/2013

fear of farright

by Anonymousreply 5201/23/2013

Sanitorium has a Christ complex

by Anonymousreply 5301/23/2013

What angers me the most about Santorum is not the socially conservative stuff. It's the fact that he and his family, including his sick daughter, receive taxpayer funded health care for life as a former member of Congress and yet he wants to deny that same coverage to most other people.

by Anonymousreply 5401/23/2013

Because he doesn't see himself as 'most people', R54. And how they rationalize it, anyway, is that it exists 'now', so they'll use it 'now' because they're entitled to it, but they don't want it to be available for future generations. I guess what he wants is his kids and grandchildren to go without.
